I made this fanmix for sea_thoughts, author of the fabulous Sailor Moon fanfiction The Exiles. sea_thoughts is not only one of my very best fandom friends, but she is one of my favorite authors in any fandom. Her story takes the Shitennou redemption arc to a new and deeper level. The story unfortunately is not complete, but I'm certain that it's destined to become one of

Thank you sooooooooooooo much! Oh my God, I LOVE the Isamu/Rei song already, and I haven't even heard it yet! Also, I love your Usagi song, because it is so nice and the Usa/Mamo song is completely appropriate and OMG, the Xavier/Setsuna song is SO perfect... *babbles incoherently*

Yay! I'm so happy you like it. :D I'm so sorry it was like a month late; I'd bought some of the songs on iTunes, so I wasn't able to distribute them until I got some blank CDs to copy them. This turned out to be a much bigger project than it should have been. ^^;;

Pieces of Sky - Beth Orton
First time I listened to this, I hardly realised it was on before it was over! Which I kinda take as a hint about the Isamu/Minako romance. :P It's a good description, though. Striving for a connection but the wrong one, and everything dissolving like clouds.

First Love Is Forever - Hourly Radio
I had never heard this before, but it's so epic and passionate, full of disappointment but the love remains. It reminds me a little bit of Sway, actually, in the sentiment, but angrier. People still drawn together by that memory and the wonder.

Liar, Liar - A Fine Frenzy
I was right, this is SO appropriate. "Sick and tired of this mad desire", yes, yes, definitely. Nothing changes, but the feeling is completely addictive, just like a siren song. And he would gladly drown in it, as he's done twice before. My own personal song for this relationship is I've Got A Fire In My Heart For You by The Super Furry Animals.

Pieces of Sky - The song does have that quality. I also occasionally think of it and go, "Wait, what does that sound like?" and I can't remember until I go listen to it. I usually don't have that problem, and I find it weirdly interesting that my Minako/Isamu song is like that

I already knew this song but I still love it and it is very appropriate!

Winter in My Heart - VAST (Takehiko)
I. love. this. It's so epic and so true of him. The lyrics are a perfect description of Takehiko at the beginning of the story and the choral part is just... for some reason, it seems to represent his Norwegian blood for me. I don't know why.

As Ugly as I Seem - The White Stripes
Ahhh, perfect Isamu song. I love how it's really about someone who refuses to see what's right in front of them and the person who refuses to hide their faults.

These Are the Ghosts - The Bees
This is the one song I don't really get. ^^; I mean, the lyrics are right but the song just doesn't feel like him. I'm sorry because I really wanted to like it! I think it might be too slow. Ken has a lot of energy, even when he's upset or angry.

As much as this is a Veronica/Logan song, it's also very appropriate for the boys.

It is, very much. It went in my own Exiles playlist the moment I heard it.

Interesting that you also find it Norwegian. I don't think I'm familiar enough with the culture to make a judgment, but that's a very happy accident.

Oh yes, Norwegian choirs have an amazing sound. Just listen to the choral music on this and this. So beautiful and heartrending and... it's like the heart of him. As is the VAST song, that's Takehiko's heart at the beginning. :)

I did go for this one solely based on lyrics because I couldn't find anything more appropriate. I also didn't want to give Ken a happy song when everyone else had a sad/bittersweet one.

That's true. Most of Ken's angst actually stems from his relationship with his father, if that helps. Perfect by Alanis Morrisette is a good one.

I don't know why, but I see Shitennou and Endymion as the MWPP for the BSSM fandom.They're good-looking tragic guys? Mamoru is a lot like Remus. If they ever met *hinthint*
