Well my bike is broken. A tire blew out while I was out on a ride. It's so nice outside, but I'm stranded. At least it didn't happen until this afternoon.
I want to make a hybrid time of now and childhood. I want the internet and computers, the good autism interventions, and my pets from now. I don't want all the technology. Smart phones can die. My flip phone is good enough. All the technological intrusions into people's private lives can die too. What I want from back then is morality, decent TV, decent music, some of the cereals/snacks I ate in my childhood that they don't make anymore, the original nintendo, but with HDMI hookups instead of that thing they had back then, roller skating rinks, lots of stuff.
Snacks:
Hostess pudding cakes - yellow cupcake with chocolate frosting and chocolate pudding filling
Hostess pudding pies - chocolate flavored crust, vanilla pudding filling, later they made ones with chocolate pudding filling
Nerds cereal - I don't remember getting this very often, but it had two kinds of cereal in one box. I think one had orange in one side and grape in the other. Nintendo cereal was similar in that there were two kinds on cereal in one box, but I don't remember us getting that.
Pudding roll-ups - they were the same texture as fruit roll ups, but came in chocolate and butterscotch flavors
Bonkers candy - They had funny commercials, and the chocolate kind was awesome.
Chewels gum - liquid center gum. Freshen up gum is pretty similar, but it's hard to find outside of gas stations now
There were other cereals too. One looked like little ice cream cones. One had chocolate and vanilla pieces and chocolate marshmallows. One was a Golden Grahams type Smores cereal.
Drinks:
Tang. They may still make it, but I have trouble finding it.
Ecto Cooler Hi-C. It's green, and Slimer was on the side of the box. What other reason to bring it back do we need?
Lemon Ice Gatorade
Cookies and Cream Nesquik. I think this one was from the 90's, but it was GOOD.
Morality:
Get all the dirty stuff off of TV please and also the radio. It used to be that kids and clueless people wouldn't get the dirty jokes, and they were innocuous enough that they could be ignored even by people who do get them.
I won't go into all the relationship/sex stuff that people do now that was a lot less prevalent when I was little because a lot of it is yucky. I don't want to see it.
The Nintendo: Come on. You could have two people (or more if you got that hub that hooked up four controllers) play on one console at the same time. That's better than needing to have two of everything. MMO can die, even though I've never done it.
