Tuesday evening, I was building a carpet-and-wood thing for the cats, as I am wont to do.
Now, I normally try to be very careful with tools - power tools, hand tools, implements of destruction - but on this particular day, I managed to accidentally take a staple right in the center of my left palm.
Ow.
maroonmd and
cheetahmaster were nice enough to help clean me up and watch over me until the color returned to my face.
However, I must've nicked a nerve or something - I initially lost all feeling in part of my left ring finger, though it's been slowly coming back. My doctor recommended I go see a "hand specialist" (orthopaedist specializing in hand injuries), so I made an appointment for tomorrow.
Tonight, though, I decided to play Left 4 Dead. Playing it confirmed that I've lost no motor function, and in fact playing the game made my hand/finger feel better.
I think I avoided doing permanent damage to myself. Hopefully, tomorrow, the specialist can tell me more.
