Not-So-Super Detailed! All for fun! - Michiru became Sailor Neptune at some point in junior high. She stalked recruited found Haruka, and the two of them set out to find three talismans to stop the coming of the messiah and the end of the world. They discovered Mistress Nine and Pharaoh 90 were behind all their troubles and, with the help of other sailors and Sailor Saturn’s ZOMG Power of Destruction, ended the enemy. Afterwards, they took a season off for vacation, returning to raise a chia pet baby!Hotaru, fight Nehelenia Mini-mes, and get pwned by Nehelenia herself until they help Sailor Moon find a new form and properly defeat last seasons boss. ((at this point is when Michiru gets pulled to City Land))
[character abilities]:
Has a item called the Deep Aqua Mirror, her heart talisman, which she uses to divine things such as approaching enemies, enemy weaknesses and plots, and the status of fellow senshi.
Can transform into the soldier of embrace and the Sea, Sailor Neptune. In this form she can use the attack Deep Submerge.
Deep Submerge: A waterball or planet shaped sphere of water energy that she blasts outwards towards her target.
[character personality]:
Michiru is most aptly described as someone fitting the image of the “ideal woman”. Most, if not all of the younger sailor soldiers in the series look up to her as a portrayal of grace and femininity. Usagi even goes as far as to call Michiru an ideal princess, and tries to emulate her for at least one episode.
She behaves like a high born noble, always eloquent, polite, and sophisticated. A true lady, if you will. She carries with her an air of dignity and seems to be able to keep her composure in almost any situation.
As far as her relations to other people go, she’s kind and cheerful, if perhaps a bit distant. It’s even hinted at that she doesn’t like people, though this distance may be more because of her role as a soldier. She has a delicate sense of humor, and seems to enjoy teasing the younger senshi from time to time, and teasing Haruka even more.
She appears to have a strong sense of maternal instinct, evidenced by the gentle fondness she has for Chibi-Usa and Hotaru, the latter of whom she cared for as a child of her own, commenting to Haruka that she wished “things could always be this way” while tending infant-Hotaru.
In Haruka, or rather her love for her, is where her biggest weakness lies. She admits to Haruka that even before she knew Haruka was a soldier, she investigated the blonde, and that she “always wished she could ride in your car along the beach”. When they both become a team, Haruka and Michiru make a promise to each other to carry on their mission even if one of them is hurt or falls. Repeatedly throughout the anime, they have problems with this promise, alternately rescuing or discouraging rescues. Though they never falter in their mission, it’s clear they can’t simply leave each other behind that easily.
A perfect demonstration of this is the special episode of SuperS which explains what Haruka and Michiru were up to during their absence of the SuperS season. In the episode, Sailor Neptune finds herself facing an enemy that has Haruka in it’s clutches. It bluffs, telling Sailor Neptune that she can’t attack him to save Haruka, because if she does, the bottle he’s holding might slip and unleash an evil that will cause all the shadows of the world to attack their people. She hesitates only a moment, but attacks anyway. When asked how she knew the enemy was bluffing, she replies that she didn’t know the claim was false, but that “A world without Haruka isn’t worth living in.”
Speaking of soldiers, as Sailor Neptune, Michiru tends to act more distant, cooler, though still every bit the lady. Her focus turns almost completely to the mission at hand, and she will do whatever it takes to see this mission through.
In mundane life, Michiru Kaioh is a well known artist, her art hanging in at least one art gallery and one cruise ship for certain. She’s also an accomplished violin player, and indeed, it’s her dream in life to be a world renown violinist, and throughout the anime we see that she’s well on her way.
