I spent the weekend in a little town outside Tampa, Florida with my friend Rick. In between some OTO initiations and dinner with some of the local members both Saturday and Sunday nights, we went to the beach and had a very fun time. Of course I neglected to take many pictures. I really need a new digital camera…anyone have suggestions for a high mega pixel, portable unit that has good hand stabilizing functions and a quick shutter?
One of the unique things about Florida is how people live right next to alligators.
In the recent month there have been repeated attacks on people by gators. So I was a bit surprised when Rick told me that behind the back deck was a marsh where alligators lived! We hoped to get a sighting or two over the weekend but other than a possibility of one far in the bushes, all we received were grunt noises. Then Monday morning as I was getting ready for the airport I was informed, “A gator is in the water in the back!” Sure enough a baby alligator was in the water in the back marsh area about three feet from the back deck. It was a young alligator; about 3 feel long from nose to the end of its tail. Pictures are below.
The weekend was fun, the company and discussions were great and the beach fun, although my thinning hair allowed my scalp to get a lot of sun…hard to put sunscreen there. Now it hurts to brush what hair I have…such is life.
Thanks to Rick and the members at
Nu Aeon Camp for the wonderful hospitality!
I hope everyone else had a great Memorial Day weekend.
