Three cheers for procrastination!
The RA retreat last weekend was great. We drove into Calgary, went shopping at Chinook, did a scavenger hunt, stayed at a hotel, went to a winter carnival, and finished up the weekend painting potery! It was a great chance to relax, even if I was exhausted and coming down with a cold by the end of it.
This past week has been one step short of insane, but it is over now. As soon as I returned from the RA retreat I went straight to a very long rehearsal. Tuesday was equally as crazy (and twice as long). This whole week probably wouldn't have been so bad if I hadn't been sick to add to a crazy schedule.
My weekend started Thursday night because my Friday classes were cancelled. So in the past two days I have spent a tonne of time working on the copious amounts of homework I have due monday, and spent 4 hours painting in parable place. I have also had a chance to take things at my own pace, which is very comforting to me. Everyonce and a while, I like having the illusion of control over what I get done in a day. I have liked today very much.
I have taken to sucking on sugar cubes when situations are stressful. Weird, I know. I guess there are worse habits to have. It's a long story how this started, but basically there were some left over after a scene I presented last week and I was hungry.
In less than two weeks I will be in Portland with my parents to visit Lucas and his family. I am ever so pleased to have such a wonderful reward waiting for me after two weeks of hard work.
In between working on a paper and studying for my midterm, I started printing out our wedding invitations today. It's only step one of 5 to get these lovely things finished, but its a start. The bridesmaid dresses have also been ordered as of last weekend. Oh! Lucas also found us an apartment on the island where we can live from July to December. Its small, but the rent is super cheep and it comes with a Queen size bed! We've been praying for a queen size bed- God is so good. Things are slowly coming together!
I am currently drinking some tea that I haven't had in years. It's an old favourite of mine that I had all but forgotten about. It's wonderful when your tea matches your mood perfectly.
Okay... no more procrastination for me. My goal is to have half of a paper written by the time Lucas gets off work at 11:30 tonight....six hours and counting.
