Noah had been busy in his apartment in anticipation of Gregor's arrival. Besides his desk most of the furniture had been moved to clear an area. There was a small iron stove in one corner of the room with a smoking cauldron at the top. The flames, glowing green and blue, had been bewitched to burn at a very high temperature. When Gabriel lead Gregor into the room Noah smiled at them both, showing all his teeth. Noah hadn't noticed it yet but since becoming Alpha his canines had increased in the length and gained sharped points

Gabriel grinned as he applied the 'nozzle' to the 'decanter'. Gregor squirmed slightly, but was out of breath from the kick to the chest that Noah gave him. "Gabe?! What the fuck man?! Seriously what are you guys doing?! I didn't do nothin!! I-I would never do anything against the pack!"

Gabriel stood behind him and grabbed the back of his head, pulling it back slightly. He pulled Gregor's ear close to Gabriel's mouth and quietly he spoke in a menacing, but unforgiving tone, "Gregor, you see that knife? It's Noah's favorite knife. Pure silver you see...and I can't wait for him to bury it in your chest to rip out that black heart of yours. I've always wondered if you had one."

Gabriel tightened Gregor's restraints and chuckled as he took a couple steps back. He stood by Adam's side and crossed his arms, watching. The look on Adam's face was not that of approval or disapproval, but more intrigue.

Gabriel slapped the side of his arm, "This is where the fun begins..."

Noah didn't address Gabriel's words, wven though he had hit the nail on the head. This was where the fun would begin

Gabriel laughed lightly when he saw the knife buried in Gregor's shoulder and shook his head when he saw him spit at Noah. 'Not smart', he thought and listened to Noah as he spoke. When he told him to untie him, let him fight, and if he won he'd be alpha, Gabriel's expression lessened, to say the least

Noah gave the man time to stretch out before gesturing for him to begin, in the calm before the attack Noah cleared his mind of thought. This was how he fought, how he won. The man was big, and he was good with his hands. He would try to take Noah out quick, the first punch would be to his face

Gabriel and the other wolves let out a cry after Gregor fell to the floor. He let out a laugh of happiness and victory, almost as if he had won the fight himself. Still laughing, he picked the heap of broken wolf up and tied him back in the chair with Adam's help.

"See! I told you Adam! Best damned fighter in the pack! This little ignorant pile of piss thought he could take on the alpha and win?! There's a reason he's the alpha!" Gabriel said grinning from ear to ear. There was nothing like a good fight to make the day more bearable.

"Good work boss! What you want to do now?" He asked moving behind Gregor.

Noah busied himself with some tools beside the smoking cauldon.

"Get your wand out, fix his more serious injuries as best you can. I don't want him passing out or dying on me once I get to work."

There was a hissing sound as Noah moved around the molten liquid.

Gregor had begun struggling against his restraints. That was good, very good in fact. So Gregor had a little fight in him yet, this would make things easier. A defeated man would accept death too readily.

Gabriel did as he was told, healing his wounds. Gregor made sighs of relief when he was healed but Gabriel knew they were in vain. "So what's the plan? Truth serum? Hot coals? Boiling blood? Oh there's so many to choose from!" He said slapping Gregor on the shoulder.

Gregor snarled at Gabriel with his new found health. Noah laughed at the suggestions made by Gabriel, wolves could resist alot. He had even heard it said that they could fight off the effects of veritaserum. However he did not want to try anything so easy as that, he would if he had to but pain was a better course of action

Gabriel took a few large steps back and knew to shut his damned mouth when this shit began. He didn't laugh, he did smile, he just watched. Adam had to turn his head and cover his mouth, knowing he would probably vomit if he didn't

Noah watched the interaction with Adam and his eyes narrowed, so when Gabriel spoke his reply came off a little sharp.

"Yes you do that, is there some problem with what happened here today? Have you got something to get off your chest?"

Gabriel gave him a look of confusion and was slightly taken aback, "What? No. What are you talking about? I think that treacherous son of a bitch got what he deserved and more!"

Gabriel was confused as to what was going on here. He had never liked Gregor to begin with and he was glad he was dead. But this whole business was messy, he knew the risks when he signed on.

"You know I support you either way!" Gabriel finished looking back at him with a hard look.

Noah sat down at his desk and picked up a bottle. Once he brought it to his lips he swallowed until half of it was gone.. only then did he speak.

"That was brutal, what I did there. However I needed to send a strong message. I need to know that you understand when a message like this one needs to happen and when it doesn not."

He wasn't going to tell Gabe that this was part of his testing for the role of Beta.

"When you catch the others there is no need to repeat this, a quick death is just as good. Take Adam and make him drink a couple of whiskey and cokes or something. He needs sugar and alcohol and lots of it, he smells like he is going to be sick and he needs something for the nerves. I dont like that he had to see this so young but everyman has to grow up sooner or later."

"I agree, which is why I'm going to take him with me tomorrow. He's going to be on the run with me, he needs to learn to keep up. I'll be using the truth serum on the fuckers, not this shit. Too much to carry anyways." He said rubbing his knuckles slightly

Noah began sorting through a pile of papers while he listened to Gabriel, no emotion showed on his face or in his voice when he answered

"I know you do and I didn't mean that I was trying to baby him. But when I was turned and abandoned, I had you to take care of me. I'm only doing the same for the kid. I'm just trying to get him ready is all." Gabriel sat down in a heap in a chair next to the desk and sighed, closing his eyes and rubbing his forehead.

"To be honest, I'm glad he saw that today. He now knows his place and the consequences of not being loyal. I know you care Noah, otherwise you wouldn't have done what you did. You did it for the good of the pack. I do understand that. But you are the alpha, you can't pay special attention to anyone in the pack. Otherwise they will be seen as the alpha's pet dog. I can pay special attention. But believe me, it won't be forever. He'll get cut loose very soon. I just want to make sure he's up on his feet is all." Gabriel hadn't had a compassionate side in a long time. He never saw much use for it, but this kid reminded him a lot of himself when he was turned, although he'd never admit it.
