Who: Gabriel and Adam What: Gabriel explains the wizarding world to Adam When: Monday afternoon Where: London, Diagon Alley, and eventually Hogsmeade Status: Incomplete (anyone want to join in?!)
Teddy didn't really know what he was doing so close to Hogwarts, knowing that right now would probably not be the best time to run across Vic's way especially not after yesterday events. But he couldn't have sat at home for much longer, it made him edgy and he couldn't find the energy to work for any of his stuff for University. It all just didn't make any sense anymore, trying to adapt to a muggle lifestyle when there was another world out there which he loved and he could do so much more for. That was, if he got a job, which was never being very easy when being a werewolf
( ... )
Gabriel's head cocked to the side slowly as he watched the new man walk in. He was just like any other person, except his scent was different. He smelled like a wolf. Adam seemed to pick up on it and started sniffing the air and Gabriel hit his chest, "Stop it. You're making it obvious."
Adam shrunk back into his seat and drank his ale slowly, trying to stay small. Gabriel grinned, "But I'm glad to see that you're using your senses like you should be."
Gabriel watched the wolf up at the bar and tried to see if he recognized him. He wasn't sure if he did, but for some reason, he seemed familiar. maybe it wasn't what he thought, but he wasn't going to make an issue out of it, especially since that one kid had been kidnapped recently by wolves. They didn't need that kind of attention right now. Instead, he sat quietly and watched, his eyes not leaving the man.
Teddy thanked the waiter for the beer, and paid it before taking a seat at the bar. His gaze fell on Gabriel and Adam in the back, his lips twitching slightly as he saw one of them sniffing the air, and the older one watching him. Humans wouldn't notice such a small gesture, but being a werewolf made him a lot more attentive to his surroundings to any kind of sign that might reveal a wolf.
He couldn't help but feel a little curious of what these two were doing here, and got back up from the stool he was sitting on and started to head towards them. The closer he got the stronger the familiar scent of wolf became in his nose, pushing away any kind of doubt he had had that his nose might be tricking him. He looked the two of them over as if to make sure that they were not going to be any harm to him here in the pub, and then put on a small smile.
"Mind if I take a seat?" he asked, ready to retreat if the older werewolf wouldn't want him too join their table.
Gabriel studied the wolf for a moment then pushed the chair out from the table, "Have a seat pup..." He wasn't being insulting, just curious at his reaction. You could judge a man by how he reacted to stress.
He was always cautious of other wolves. You just never knew their loyalties and you couldn't trust them. Gabriel pulled out a thick cigar and lite it with a match. Pulling on it, he blew a large smoke cloud into the air as he watched the wolf sit down. Adam was getting twitchy and Gabriel could smell the uneasiness and fear off him.
"Thanks," Teddy replied calmly, raising a slight eyebrow at being called pup but ignoring it for now. He hadn't had a lot of experience with other packs, of course there had been the young wolves he had met up with some times, and with which he had gotten into trouble with more then he could count, but that had been different. Sometimes he still felt like he had a lot to learn when it came to werewolves, making him wish sometimes that his father was still there, and would help him along, teach him which wolves to avoid and which not, including anything else a wolf should know.
"I am sorry, I should have introduced myself, Theodore Lupin," he said with a warm smile, wondering why the younger man was getting that twitchy. "But everyone just calls me Teddy, and you are?"
The corner of Gabriel's mouth raised as he recognized the name. 'Lupin' was well known in the wolf world. He knew he wasn't as big a threat as he first anticipated, not that the kid couldn't defend himself, but he wouldn't attack...well he hoped anyways.
"Gabriel Draven," Gabriel leaned forward slightly and pointed to Adam, "Adam. Don't mind him, he was turned recently, still getting used to the tail. So, a Lupin? Shit, I never thought I'd see the day."
"Ahhh.. that explains the twitchyness," Teddy replied with a chuckle, looking over at Adam with a reassuring smile. He couldn't help but feel the urge to tease the younger man a little, but resisted the urge. It wouldn't be fair on him, and he doubted that Gabriel would appreciate it. Neither would his dad if he'd still be alive, and Teddy chided himself mentally before looking back at Gabriel with a warm smile.
He tilted his head to the side a little in confusion, and leaned his arms on to the table. "You're making it sound like there is some kind of legacy I don't know about," Teddy said with a small chuckle, still looking rather curious however.
Gabriel grinned slightly, taking a drink of his ale, "Come now. Your father is a legend among the wolves. Don't you know?" He wasn't trying to be an ass, but it might come across that way as he chuckled. "Your father was one of the only wolves to turn against Voldemort. Not that I don't blame him. I always thought that asshole was way too over done. Besides, if a kid can take care of him, how powerful could he really have been?" Everyone knew of the story of Harry Potter defeating the 'great and powerful Voldemort'. Bunch of bullshit if you asked Gabriel.
"No I didn't," Teddy replied quietly, looking down at his beer for a moment and taking a small sip from it. Andromeda never talked much about Remus, and Harry had already told him everything that he had known about the his dad. Of course Teddy knew that Remus had done a lot for the war, but he hadn't known that Remus Lupin was that known between the wolves.
"I mean I know he did a lot in the war against Voldemort, but that's about it," he replied seriously as he looked up again. "There are after all not many people left to tell me about him."
Gabriel chuckled lightly, "Well that's too bad. I met him once. Straight forward, to the point, good talker. Tried to get my pack to join his cause. We refused of course, but I always held him in high respect for trying. Course, the old dog did give me a nasty head wound when we chased him out. I probably deserved it though...I was an arrogant pup back in the day." In all honesty, he actually did like Remus Lupin. He was a good fighter and fought off about 15 wolves and lived to tell the tale. He respected him, so he wondered if he could respect his son.
A small chuckle escaped Teddy's lips, trying to imagine his dad how he had tried to talk to a pack of werewolves. He smiled wistfully at the thought, wishing that he would have seen it once and then shook the sadness quickly away again. His father had died to protect him, so Teddy had decided that he wouldn't spend his time mourning him.
"Well everyone reserves the right to protect one self," Teddy replied with a small grin, taking another sip from his beer. "I have to admit I am surprised to meet anyone here at the moment, with what has happened the other day," he said quietly, his expression growing a little grim for a moment.
"Yeah it screams 'wolf business'. Not sure who did it. If I did, not sure if I'd congratulate or kick the guy who did it." He took a long pull off his cigar and blew the smoke in the air in a large cloud and away from the table. "Troublemakers that make us look bad. Kill 'em if you find 'em, that's what I say. We have a hard enough time as it is..."
"We don't need things like this. Any more of those stupid games, and we'll have to worry about being able to sit in the pub like this," Teddy replied quietly, making sure to keep his voice down. He remembered to clearly the day he had been in the Ministry for the check up and the trouble it had caused that he had spend the full moon somewhere else but his flat. His expression grew grim for a moment, hoping seriously that Hugo was alright and that whoever had taken him, hadn't hurt him in any kind of way.
"Well, it's never been easy for us anyways. To be honest, I'd be surprised if whoever took the kid didn't bite him already. Mark my words, we'll be hunted like mutts if he is hurt or killed. I'm kinda hoping the Order of the Pheonix finds the kid before the Ministry. Those bureaucrats don't know whether to scratch their watches or scratch their asses!" Gabriel said in a loud laugh that turned heads. He honestly didn't care if people knew he was a wolf. If they started something, he'd be glad to fight them, teach Adam how to fight properly.
"Don't you think that will happen anyway? With how everything is going right now," Teddy asked seriously. His brow rose a little as people looked over to them for a moment, a small glare appearing on his face for a second and then looking back at Gabriel. "Getting a job is still a pain. Makes me regret that I ever registered myself with the Ministry in the first place, but my godfather is head of the Auror Department, couldn't really not do it," he said with a small sigh, his eyes still looking around the room every now and then.
Gabriel leaned back and sipped his ale, "Nah. The war's comin' and bet your ass it's gonna be a slaughter. I registered myself when I was really young, got abandoned by my family, and my pack raised me. So I live off the wizarding grid, supported by my pack. It's easier. Not as many rules. Can live however you like, as long as your alpha approves." A little boy had been starring at Gabriel ever since he had laughed out loud and Gabriel looked over at him, grinning largely, showing his fangs. The child quickly looked away in fear and ran off. "To be honest, I don't care either way. I don't live in this world anymore."
