Who: Crystal and Maddi What:Crystal and Maddi run into each other Where: Ravenclaw Common Room When: Sunday late morning Rating: PG-13 Status: In progress
Madison had been lying in bed all morning re-reading her favourite books, trying to ignore her growling stomach. She had skipped lunch and dinner yesterday and had missed out on breakfast. She was hoping that by ignoring the world all her problems would disappear. Unfortunately for Madison another problem was created. Finally fed up of her growling stomach she put her book down and changed out of her pyjamas.
She dressed for comfort today instead of looks, smiling momentarily as she imagined her mother's face if she saw the baggy trackpants teamed with a huge baggy cardigan. She tied her unwashed hair up into a top knot and made her way down the stairs and to the common room. She hadn't anticipated Crystal sitting there though and it threw her off. She tried to make her way to the door so she could escape but she had been too slow.
Crystal looked up and seen Madi walking by, "Madi, can we talk?" She asked kindly hoping the girl would want to talk to her. "I want to explain myself." She looked at Madi as she stood up and walked over to her. She seen how beautiful she looked today and smiled, "You look amazing." She smiled sweetly looking at Madi as she was standing there.
Madi froze when she heard her name. Slowly she turned around to face the younger blonde. She shoved her hands into her cardigan pockets and shrugged noncommittally. She didn't want to talk to Crystal, but knew she had to act her age and actually address her problems.
"Whatever," she finally responded to all of Crystal's questions and statements. She actually looked a mess but didn't want to argue about it.
"Maddi, I am so sorry. I needed to get my frustration out and Marcus was there." She told her old friend and she felt herself breaking. "God Maddi I didn't want to do this. I would have done anything else but him.." She looked at her into her eyes.
"Let's go somewhere else," Madi suggested as she realised everyone was watching them. She started walking to the door, biting down on her bottom lip to keep her emotions in check. This in itself was surprisingly easier than she anticipated. Instead of sadness there was the bitter twinge of anger and resentment.
Crystal walked out of the common room with Madi, "Okay a classroom." She walked with her until they found an empty room. She opened the door for her, then walked in behind. "This okay?" She asked.
"This will do," she nodded as she walked into the room and took a seat at one of the desks. She waited until Crystal had sat down at one of the other desks, watching her expectantly. Crystal was the one who wanted to talk, therefore she could be the one to start the conversation.
"God Maddi I want to take back what I did with Marcus yesterday, but I did it because I was angry and upset." She sighed and knew that was no excuse to hurt her like this again. "He does something to me, he makes me want him. Though I don't want to be with him, I know what kind of guy he is. Hell, him and Brandon would be a cute couple really. I just want us to be friends, I swear!" She looked over at Maddi and bit her lower lip.
"Yeah, well you know what I did? When I was angry and upset? I cried. Ate some chocolate. I didn't go and sleep with the nearest cock," Madi said, her voice scarely even considering the anger that was making her fists clench.
"I'm sorry alright, plus you know I can't eat when I'm upset." She looked at Madi in the eyes seeing her get angry. "I want us to be friends still. I do. I just don't want this to be the end for us again, I know we can never get back what I fucked up, but I want you in my life Maddi." She looked at her.
Crystal took a deep breath, "I didn't want you hearing it from The Mavens. I know how they love spreading the gossip. Also I didn't want you hearing it from Marcus either. If it was going to come out and you find out, I wanted it to be from me." She looked at Madi and tried to make her understand. "God Maddi, I've missed you. I hate what Marcus did to us and I hate that I can easily persuaded into his bed." She shook her head, then taking another breath. "I have missed you so much Maddi-cakes!"
Madi looked down at her ugg boots when Crystal mentioned the Mavens. She wasn't sure if hearing it through the Mavens would have been easier, but she knew for sure hearing it through Marcus would have been worse.
She kept staring at her boots and hoping that some sort of revelation would hit her. Her fists were still clenched in her pockets and her heart was pounding from the adrenelin anger filled her with.
"I don't know if I can, Crystal. I know I said the other day that we'd try. But I just don't know right now," she finally said as she looked straight into Crystal's eyes. She quickly got up from her seat and rushed to the door, not wanting to hear her response.
"Maddi please." She called after her and then got up to her feet to run after her. She grabbed Maddi's arms and turned her around, "Please, I can't stop thinking about you. All the times we had together. Everything we shared. I want to be friends so badly. I need you Maddi." She kissed the girl softly on the lips.
When she felt Crystal's lips on hers, Madi forgot her anger, forgot the past, forgot everything and kissed her back. But it didn't take too long for her to remember and remember fast.
Madi pushed her away and turned the door knob. "Cryssy, friends don't kiss like that. I need to think. I need space."
And before Madi could kiss Crystal or be persuaded by anything she might have to say or do, she was out of the classroom and running down to the kitchen. All the things she had spent the weekend ignoring flooding her head.
Crystal hit the wall, shaking her head. She didn't know where or not to chase after her. She leaned against the wall hearing the paintings talking and then ran after Maddi, she slowed down as she reached the kitchen, she stepped in and seen Maddi sitting there. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have kissed you, but I have been wanting to. I wanted to say that and now I'll go." She turned around to head back out of the kitchen.
