Noah looked up at Gabriel and nodded towards the empty chair in front of his desk. There was a mountain on paper work on the hard wood desk and an ashtray over flowing with cigarette butts.
Gabriel sat down in the chair and pulled out the envelope he had been given when he first arrived. "First, I have the security measures done and laid out. Looks like we had an open gap in the back. Security camera's are in place. Also, I got a couple pack mates to start making regular rounds only in the back area's. They have a direct radio link to me when I'm on the floor, otherwise, they are talking to the sergeant
( ... )
The security stuff went over Noah's head. He knew Gabe would sort it and he wasn't that concerned. With a sigh he lit his cigarette and drew a deep lungful of smoke.
" There is no need to apologise Gabriel, you did nothing wrong per se." The iciness of his voice did not match the dismissal though.
"You are right though, in future when you bring wolves here ask me before taking them to the V.I.P area. On that same note you tell me if she is in the club again, I mean Renata, I want to know what she is up to. I want her watched if she comes into a mile radius of the club."
Noah's eyes locked with Gabriel's "Is that going to be a conflict of duty for you?"
Gabriel didn't look away from Noah's eye's, "Absolutely not. You should know me by now enough to know that when I say something's going to be done, it will be done. I won't let you down Noah, I swear it. And I'll keep an eye on her. What is it about her that she is a threat? Or are you just not sure? What pack does she belong to anyways? She wouldn't tell me..."
Noah got to his feet and walked over to the minibar and filled two large glasses with the usual amber liquid, without speaking he gave one to Gabriel. It was only when he was sitting again that he spoke.
"I have seen her too often in all the wrong places. I don't know what pack she belongs to but I am certain she is a scout of some type. She talks about her Alpha a bit so I know she has a pack. I didn't smell deceit off her anyway. We are too vunerable at the moment to deal with a fucking internal coup."
Noah pulled out a folder and slid it over to Gabriel.
"Take this, don't open it now. Inside is the details of a pack member I have discovered to be a traitor." Noah phrased the words in a way that suggested he was doing Gabriel's job for him.
"I want you to bring him to my office in a few days. We need to have a little talk with him. His name is Gregor and he was one of Bentham's little bitches. He works in one of the store houses, bring him here and don't make him suspicious."
Gabriel took the drink and sipped it as he listened. He wasn't surprised to hear about Renata, but then again she was being very careful with covering her tracks. He nodded as he listened, then took the folder, almost opened it, but didn't when he was told not to.
His eyes squinted as he heard the word 'traitor' and a growl brewed in his throat. "I never liked Gregor..." Gabriel said and took another sip. "We question him or just kill 'em?"
"We do both of course. I have reason to believe he was planning on gathering all the wolves who ran away during my fight with Bentham. If there is one that means there are more so I am going to have to send a message with this one. I want you to go out and get me large sheets of plastic. I don't want my office ruined and scouring spells never quite get the blood out. I also want you to bring me a iron ore melting pot and some bars of silver. I have plans for Gregor that should make him verbose."
Gabriel grinned, bearing his fangs slightly at the thought of Gregor screaming in agony. "I'll see to all that personally." He swallowed the last of his drink and set his glass down on the table.
"I actually met Renata while she was hunting. Walking back from the grocery store and heard a ruckus in an alley. Some chick was gettin robbed. Killed the little shit and took the girl to my apartment. Apparently Renata was hunting the girl. It was only after I brought her back did I realize that my groceries had been tampered with, cause I left them in the alley to bring the girl back. Met up with her afterwards and she said she was comin' here. Seemed harmless enough, but I still never trusted her." He said cracking his neck.
"No this Gabriel, you are in my pack but you are a free wolf. I am not going to tell you who you can and can not see. I am just advising you to exercise caution. I trust you as much as I always have so please don't feel you have angered me in any way."
He had angered him, but it wasn't his fault so he couldn't blame him.
"On a similar note please keep the death toll to a minimum, I need your hands squeaky clean for the work I have for you. It costs alot of money to make a body go away."
Tension released from Gabriel's neck slightly when he heard he wasn't angry with him and he relaxed slightly. "Thank you...I never like it when you're angry with me and as far as the free wolf goes, you're my alpha. Whatever you say and believe, I say and believe. And I'll try to keep the killing down. One has to indulge from time to time." He said with a small smirk.
Noah joined his smile and got up to pour them both another drink.
" Well yes we do have to indulge but can you take up smoking or something for a while. Seriously I need no more bodies to deal with."
He was glad when Gabriel affirmed his vows of loyalty, it was something that needed to be said every now and then. More for the speaker than the listener.
"Did you hear about the kidnapping at Hogwarts? Kinda fits the profile of a 'wolf-napping' don't ya think?" He took the glass from Noah and raised an eyebrow, "Think we have some competition in the area?"
"Yeah I heard, nothing to concern ourselves with at the moment." It was in fact a very large concern of theirs if it was true but he had given Bariel a job to do and he didnt care for multi tasking on the job.. especially one this important."
Sighing he lit a fresh cigarette of the butt of his old one.
"We always will have competition in the area as we are so central to London. Just remember we may not ever be the strongest pack but we will be the smartest one. Now if there is nothing else?"
He let the question hang as he gestured to the pile of paperwork. Sure it was a short meeting but he was busy and he was... still a little annoyed after all.
"I figured as much. Kidnapping is a dirty business anyways. I'll get that traitor son of a bitch up here soon. But for now, I'll leave you be. Until then my friend, thank you. I'll be keeping an eye out in London for any other wolves. Let you know as soon as I find one or two. Thanks again Noah." Gabriel stood and finished the last of his drink, setting the glass on the desk. He turned and sighed as he made his way out the office door

"Come on in."
