Title: there's no real point to this
Rating: U
Pairing: kibum x donghae
Genre: Romance, fluff
Warnings: none, unless you have an allergy to fluff
Summary: It's the little things that are most amazing. Like cuddles.
AN: Wrote this forever ago, as you can see I am so prompt with my posting hardiharhar. Also, I have no idea when Finding Nemo came out, work with me here.

It’s not that Donghae is stupid - far from it. In some ways he’s more than intelligent. But it’s just, Kibum has got this whole genius thing down, you know? It’s not just that he reads at the speed of light and can, like, do the maths thing, either, which is just depressing. He’ll sit and watch TV and make snippy comments about the people and know all the reasons they say what the do and not what they mean. When they talk about politics (which, in Super Junior, isn’t really that often, admittedly), he knows everything that’s happening and read all the newspapers and can explain all the laws and then it all makes sense.

It’s all kinds of depressing, but the glasses are hot, so.

That evening they aren’t watching the actual TV, but some drama that Sungmin has decided he adores. It’s the same old shtick, poor pretty girl with lovely face and personality meets gorgeous rich guy who’s a complete dick. At least, that’s what Kibum says. He’s actually quite enjoying it: the actors are good and the girl looks so sad it makes his heart hurt for her. Everyone should fall in love.

He snuggles closer and clutches tighter as the guy starts being even meaner. Kibum tucks him closer and kisses his forehead, and he feels a little better. The arms around him are strong and sturdy, and it’s like he’s all wrapped up in his boyfriend’s warmth. Which makes sense, since, you know, they’re all tangled up on the sofa, and he’s mostly in Kibum’s lap. They’ve even got a blanket - it’s all kinds of perfect. The lights are low and there’s even a fire burning (Yesung is not allowed on that side of the room). The presence of thirteen other guys and the TV are minor details.

The thing about being in love, right, is it’s not just about finding someone who’s completely perfect for you (although, hello, they’re perfect for each other), it’s about finding someone who’s willing to change for you.

They’ve got the opposites attract thing. Like, he’s a talker and Kibum’s a listener. He’ll talk for ages and ages and Kibum can listen and listen, and it’s nice. Kibum actually listens too, not just switching off like some people, and he’ll remember it the next day. He’s been remembering since the first day they met, when Kibum was still little and skinny - and shorter, which didn’t last, sadly.

There’d been meetings between everyone before, of course. They were all trainees. You couldn’t miss Kangin or Siwon or Heechul. But the quiet boy standing near Heechul? He was both easy and hard to miss. Easy because he was small and skinny and quiet, and, like so many trainees, drowned out by the loud ones. But when he smiled - you could never forget that smile. It was his eyes though, that had him bouncing over and sticking out his hand. Hi! I’m Lee Donghae, I dance, play football and my movie is Finding Nemo! Kibum had shaken his hand and said something (he couldn’t remember anymore and it doesn’t really matter anyway).

What mattered is that months later at his next birthday he got the new version with the extra special features and a Dory plushie to go with his Nemo.

And he could bring Kibum out of his shell. Get him into clubs and dancing (choreography may not be his boyfriend’s friend, but he could dance fucking well in a club okay - it’s hot damnit). No one else could.

He knows that he can be silly sometimes, get caught up. And he knows that in retrospect, ‘cause he kinda doesn’t notice when it’s happening. But then there’ll be a hand on his arm, and a deep voice near his ear. And if he needs to, he’ll calm down. Kinda. At least for a little bit. Sort of.

But the best part is, he knows that Kibum is happier these days. And he laughs more. It warms his heart and every time he thinks about it he has to bury his nose in Kibum’s shoulder. Or collar bone. Or neck. Or wherever.

Point is they are so totally good for one another.

They laugh and love and screw like bunnies. Genuinely, he can’t think of anything he’d like to change - it’s that awesome.

Beneath him, Kibum shifts and slides a hand through his hair, toying gently with soft strands, it’s clichéd and so totally amazing.

“You awake?”

He blinks and shifts himself until he meets his boyfriend’s eyes, light and dark in flickering firelight. Instead of replying he nuzzles closer for a kiss, because you can’t kiss when you’re asleep so he’s really answering the question anyway.

When he pulls away Kibum’s eyes are laughing and he’s smiling softly, a flash of white in the semi-darkness.

“I’ll take that as a yes then, ready to go up to bed?”

He smiles this time, and hops up quickly, tugging on Kibum’s hand. Really, his boyfriend can be so slow.

“Come on Kibummie,” he sings, “slow coach, slow coach!” He tugs until they are both upright and grinning, only then noticing that the episode had finished and the others were drifting off while Sungmin retrieved his DVD. They bid a quick goodnight to the others and get a few hugs and smiles in return.

Super Junior is going to bed.

All the way up the stairs and to Kibum’s room, they’re touching. At the moment, his boyfriend is sharing with Shindong, but Shindong has long since taken to sharing with Sungmin (in Yesung’s bed, but he’s with Wookie - it’s all a bit complicated). All this means is that they get the room to themselves tonight.

Even as they get changed into sleeping clothes (Kibum in tatty tracky-pants while he has actual pyjamas - they have Nemo on them!), Kibum keeps up the touching. A brush to the shoulder, a squeeze of the hand. It’s nice - and that is the word, because it’s not ground breaking or earth-shaking. Instead it warms the heart and brings a soft smile to his face. Better yet, Kibum didn’t really touch before, it’s something that his boyfriend started doing because he likes it. And the he started liking it even more because it was Kibum, who started liking it because he liked it and- well, that’s love for you (cyclic and confusing, but it brings warm fuzzies, so what the hell).

As they slide under the covers, he thinks of all the beds they’ve curled up in together. Different beds, rooms, buildings, countries. It never gets old. Twisting so that they tangle sufficiently, legs meshed and arms wrapped tight. He’ll sleep on his back, his side, his front, but always with Kibum.

There’s no real point to any of this. Not really. It all weaves together with smiles and more laughter and even more love. But there’s no definite beginning, and who knows where the middle is if there isn’t an end? No, there’s no real point to this, not unless you count happiness.

So, yay! I wrote fluff! I used to be quite good at this? Idk if I like this, it feels repetitive? Tell me what you think??
