(no subject)
So apparently I neglected to tell y'all that I was gone.
Well, I was visiting Whitman. I actually got flown up for free! I think I'll do a schedule thing 'cept not include very not much detail at all. Uncharacteristic of me, I know, but I'm tired.
Friday
7:00 am - wake up
8:00 am - leave for airport
8:40ish - arrive at airport
~ There was a freakishly slow line at the "drop off your bag since you already checked in online" line. It was gross. I got bored and called Michael. Afterwards, I left a message on Kelly's phone about Euro since I couldn't get a hold of Brie and Nicole.
almost 9 - find gate A2 and sit down.
~ Take out Fugitive Pieces and overhear a girl asking if she can leave her sleeping bag. That's how I met Sheila. Sheila's from a way tiny school called Newport High School. We then had to move to a different gate. Gate A3, I think. We met David Mai, who goes to Lake Oswego. We also met a girl named Nicky, who's from California. Nicky was one of the three kids on that flight competing for a scholarship, but I'll get to the other two later. Then we met Taylor who was visiting Whitman with her mother, and I don't recall if we met Matt at this point or when we moved gates yet again. Matt was another student competing for the scholarship. After that move, we moved gates one last time, I believe. By this time, we had also met a guy named Tom who was visiting Whitman with his mother as well. We technically didn't meet the third student until later, but his name is Brian and he does dragonboat with Cleveland.
around 11:20ish? - flight left
~ The plane was tiny!! Nicky and I both wanted to take a picture, but didn't end up doing so. I met this awesome man named Donny (who I was seated next to), and we talked almost the entire time about life. It was nice.
after 12ish maybe? - We met up with Anne Thatcher, who drove us from Pasco to Whitman.
~ That's where we met Brian.
1:40ish - Arrive at Whitman.
~ It's gorgeous. We are dropped off at the Office of Admission, and each of us get our own little interview type meetings. I met with Kevin Dyerly, which was nice.
2:00ish - Campus tour
around 4 - I got picked up by a substitute babysitter and waited for my actual babysitter.
~ I met by actual babysitter, Kim, and dropped my things off in her room. We explored downtown Walla Walla until it was about time to go to the dinner.
6:30 pm - dinner
8:30 pm - The Vagina Monologues
10:30ish - called Brie
~ I got ready for bed and left a message for Brad
some time after 11 - sleep
Saturday - Actual admitted students day
7:45 am - breakfast/registration.
9:00 am - Liberial Imperialism lecture in Maxey
10:00 am - Mulit-cultural meeting
11:00 am - Residence hall tour
12:00 am - Lunch
~ I met Aidan's parents, who are very nice people. Did I mention that Keiler was also there? Yeah, I win.
1ish? - Sheila and I went downtown again
2:30ish maybe? - We came back and dropped off our stuff at the Office of Admission
3:00 pm - Victoria drove us to the airport (Pasco).
~ from there, we flew to Seattle, and then from Seattle to PDX.
Did I mention that I'm in love with Whitman? Yeah. :)
