the weekend in the Loire Valley was incredible and amazing. those chateaus are just larger than life and i just felt like i was walking through 3D postcards. of course i took a lot of pictures. it was just a really great weekend, i roomed in a hotel with merry and pooja and it was really nice to be able to relax away from home and be with positive people.
yeah the host parents are crazy. they yelled at me for not totally finishing an apple (it was gross) and said that americans waste food but the french do not. its just very strict in the house and between only eating veggies (which is getting old) and not being able to make a speck of dirt, spending time in the city is nice. but its really not bad, definatlely not enough to make the trip any less amazing.
sometimes i get a little homesick - jessica is a difficult character to relate to. she just really hates everyone and has some perceptions on the world i just cant justify. but, it's nothing worse than sia, so as long as she is at least cordial and civil, i'm fine.
so that's about all for now. this week is mainly classes (although we're going out tonight to try to meet locals since we dont have class until 1:30 tomorrow) and versailles on friday. then this weekend is normandy, which should be awesome, and we get to go to the beach. :-)

oh and ps - visited a winery this weekend, SO good, definately a fan of sweet, white wines. i'm going to attempt to bring a bottle home, but we'll see how well that works.
