The ride on the Hogwarts Express was rather interesting this year. Terry's sister Sarah was with us in our compartment for some time. She certainly knows how to entertain herself; most of the time she sat as far as she could from us, talking to herself. Or perhaps her Hogwarts letter and Terry's socks. When she caught me watching her, she would ( Read more... )

I expect my mum will find some way to blame me for this.

My only consolation is I can't really tell her that she's in Slytherin.

I did warn you about the socks. But did you listen? No. Fools, the lot of you.

She looks so innocent in that picture. Why are you not going to tell her? Won't she find out somehow?

If she had not taken my blue & white striped socks, I would not mind. Those were my favorite. Will I ever get them back?

She tends to do that. It tends to work well for her.

If my mum finds out a month from now, instead of tomorrow, hopefully the relief that we are still alive after not communicating for a month will cancel out any dissappointment.

Not likely. I suppose you could try threatening her.

I do not have the will to threaten. Which means you owe me new socks.

Am I my sister's keeper?

Not her keeper, no, but you are her kin. It is also easier to blame you since I see you everyday.

Fine. Feel free to take any of the socks my sister has taken from me.

Are you kidding? I do not want your socks, my feet are not that big. No, I want new ones. Preferrably my size.

Beggars can't be choosers. Unless they are beggars who want to give me a belt some time next week.

I already told you I would buy you a belt for your birthday. You should buy me socks for your birthday as well, Christmas is just too far away.

My birthday is not in the next week, when it would be auspicious for me to have a new belt.

If you cannot wait until then, surely there are people you could borrow one from. I would loan you one of mine but, well, it probably would not fit you.

That's okay. I'm not going to wear it.

Really. What do you need it for then?

Dispensing my obligation to Pansy.

Oh. And here I had thought you would give her one of your own. In this case, I will keep mine. Knowing Pansy has something of mine is not a pleasant thought.
