And so it begins...
I was bored, so I figured up all my practicum hours. Including the days I'll need off, days I'll need to go in late, and the fact that I won't work Memorial Day, I'm planning on my last day being June 9th. And that will evenly round out with 120 hours, no more and no less. I know I'm pushing it, but that would work out perfectly because my OCC course starts on June 8th. Granted, it is an online course that I don't need to go to class for, but it'll still be nice to not worry about my practicum and an extra class.
And just my luck, this week is Spirit Week at the shelter. It reminds me so much of Homecoming Week in high school (blah), but it's fun for the women and kiddos. Here's a rundown of the events... And my supervisor said that I need to participate (I have a feeling if I don't, my grade will suffer... argh!) I was never one much for participating in things like this, but maybe it'll be fun.
Monday: Pajama Day
Tuesday: Mix and Match Day (Any ideas here are welcome!)
Wednesday: Hat Day
Thursday: Odd Shoe Day
Friday: Wear Green Day (Why Green? I don't know...)
So it should be fun. I guess the counselors have some fun ideas planned for Friday and none of the clients know about it. So it should be fun. No one really knows I start my practicum this week (aside from staff), so I'm planning on getting a lot of weird looks when I walk in Monday morning. :D
I also received a schedule for this week. Technically, it's kind of like my "Training" week, but it doesn't look like I have to read any of the dreaded training books and manuals again, thank goodness. I just go to a lot of the groups. One thing that will be interesting is a meeting at Brescia... Hmm... Should I wear my KWC shirt that day? :)
