As many of you know, Miss Mitsuru Kirijo has gone home. [ there's a somber note in Shuri's voice. ] She was a valued friend and an esteemed member of the school... she will be greatly missed.

Before her departure, she and I had made plans to create a student council. Our goal was to involve students in the educational process and encourage unity within the student body.

This has not changed.

Though Miss Mitsuru has gone home, I will continue to uphold our ideals and work toward the future we envisioned together... [ a short pause. and then, slowly, starting off with a sour, disbelieving note before morphing into something that sounds far more sincere. ] I know many of you may not have much faith in my ability to lead, however I can assure you that I have no intention of running a dictatorship or imposing rules or restrictions on any of you. That contradicts the future that I want to see here, and I'm certain that it would do more harm than good.

Student Council is about unity. Everyone is equal, everyone has a voice. In a place like Luceti, everyone has a right to be heard and get an education. For some, it is not possible to achieve such things at home - for others, perhaps they have no drive. Some students may go to school without friends or companions, others may feel isolated despite being in a large group - I want to change this.

I know that I am not alone in this. [ his voice warms considerably. ] And I will fight for a future where everyone is welcome, where everyone has friends and companions! Where everyone has the best educational experience possible, regardless of background or pedigree!

Even if I am alone in this, I will not give up. And I ask anyone who feels the same to submit their name. Even students who do not earn positions are welcome to attend the council and offer ideas and suggestions!

I will not give up.

I strongly encourage everyone to do the same.

There is a box for candidates to submit their names at the school.I hope to see a strong turn out.

This is going to happen no matter what. [ and louder. ] No matter what! No matter who gets sent home, no matter how many kidnappings happen. This will be realized!

[ and suddenly there's a crash behind him. shuri whips around. ] Wh-! [ NOT NOW.

Crash. Thunk. And off Shuri goes to Mallynapping Land. ]

damn you malnosso!, student council, political family background go, responsibility?!, i know how to talk to the people!, not entirely sincere in this, i can sound like i know what i'm doing, i know what i'm doing, ill-timed kidnapping, goodbye mitsuru, oh the irony
