San Francisco had the
summer of love in 1967. Google is sponsoring the
summer of code this year. Spike Lee had his big hit in 1999 as the
summer of sam. So I figured it was only fair that I should have the
summer of AP.
Perhaps that was just a bit too dramatic. However, I now have a binder labeled "The Summer of AP!" and I thought it was pretty dang clever. In fact, it inspired me to stop what I was doing and share my streak of brilliance with the whole wide world. Now, before I get ahead of myself, let me tell you exactly what is in the Summer of AP! binder (henceforth, "the binder"). It contains every little thing I am expected to do this summer in preparation for the rigors of my AP classes next year. Now, depending how well you know me, you're probably thinking to yourself "Gosh, Ryan really is on the ball with this stuff." However, don't just judge the binder by its cover... look to its contents. So far, it contains the assignments for both of my AP classes. Not my completed work, mind you... just the little papers telling me what to do.
Oh well. That was way too much writing about absolutely nothing of value.
Today was Fathers' Day. My dad and I spent some quality time discussing his musical tastes. I like most of the stuff he likes. He hates most of the stuff I like. 'Nuff said. (Although he does like Seasons of Love... unlike some people...) We also went out after dinner to Del's since he really likes their ice cream. Oh and of course we gave him the stuff we bought him in Hawaii.
I finally finished Hotel Rwanda today. It really was a great, powerful film. It left me speechless for several hours. Apparently I appeared to be in a 'trance' after watching it. I also spent about an hour researching the current situation in Darfur, Sudan. I want to be involved. I want to be a better citizen of the world. (I want an Amnesty International T-shirt). More to come on this, I'm sure.
Physics is also progressing nicely. I've completed 2 weeks of work in about a day. Their time estimates are horribly off. An hour in flvs time is about 15 minutes ir nayr time.
Last week was pretty cool. I don't really remember what I did although I do remember spending a good bit of time with Tango which was amazingly awesome. Oh and she dragged me to the Sisterhood of the travelling pants. Although if you ask her, she might say I dragged her to it... (Amber Tamblyn was in it, after all!!!!). She also came over here and watched 1/8 of a movie with me and had dinner with the 'rents and popo. I think we went to the mall at one point, too. Oh! Duh. Sid was here last week. That was pretty cool... Sid should come visit more often and should be healthy when doing so! Hm... I feel like last week sort of disappeared.
Oh, yesterday I went to Orlando to meet with Matt. My mom and I had lunch with him and his mom. It was quite exciting. I forgot to take a picture of his mom, though. Oops.
Tomorrow is looking to be exciting. I just remembered we had a youth group 'thang' to decorate our room in the new building but I also came to the conclusion that there is no way I can get a ride down there tomorrow. Sorry guys! I'll be a better YRUUer some day, I swear. However, it does look like I will be going to the movies with the 'random people' (as my parents refer to them... lauren, carter, carter, val, megan, etc.) and of course Tango tomorrow night. That should be sweet.
I've run out of steam for this entry. This freight train is only goin' so fast. But remember...
We are only one people,
