I was in a similar - but luckily not as bad - situation this January. Middle of a three-car pileup, but in my case the car in the back had the worst damage. Windshield shattered, girl in the passenger seat got some (luckily superficial) cuts on her forehead.
I lost bumper and beloved stickers thereof but otherwise everything was fine. The cop asked me if I wanted the guy to get a ticket, which legally is not how she was supposed to handle the situation. I said no; I know the guy, he had a baby in his senior year of high school, he didn't need a ticket on top of everything else.
That's beside the point. Anyways.
I sorta kinda know how you feel, I guess. Hope everything turns out fine, your neck especially. Wow.

That was nice of you to forego the ticket, legalities aside. I'd have been frightened of it effecting my insurance if the other driver wasn't cited. Actually, did it effect your insurance?
Thanks, I just got back from the Orthpedist today and looks like everything is actually okay. I'm sure i'll go into more details in a future entry.
