i have been a terrible updater lately and am going to continue my lazy streak by copying and pasting an e-mail to my pastor and his response (in bold letters). it pretty much sums up what's new as of lately and any input would be appreciated on the last two things.

hey pastor bob:

sorry i couldn't make it to church today. i threw out my back on thursday,
from sleeping wrong or something so i have been awfully sore the past couple
days. i can move now, just with some pain. there was no one to cover me at
work on friday and saturday so i decided to use today to just stay home and
ice it so i can feel a little better at work on monday. levi is still
working on the other side of the state, he is so bummed that he hasn't been
able to make it to church. he was informed yesterday that they would no
longer be working 7 10-hour days, but 7 12-hour days/week. he probably won't
be able to come home for another couple of weeks and with me working 6 days,
i can't go see him! it is okay though, we argue less when we miss each
other, haha.

WOW! I hope your back is feeling better and that Levi doesn't drop dead from exhaustion. I guess, in Michigan, it's better to be working too much than to not have a job. (Being a grown-up isn't as much fun as I thought it would be!)

anyways, there were a couple of things that i wanted to mention to you that
i would appreciate some prayer over.

levi and i have a down payment saved for a house in saline. we won't be
closing until may which gives us the time to make sure this is what God
wants. we are in love with the house and think we can afford it we just want
some time for prayer to make sure, you know its kind of a big decision, heh.

I'll pray for you guys about this. It is a big commitment and best to proceed with God's approval.

also, i have been offered an apprenticeship at the hair salon that i work
at. it is an incredible opportunity to learn under the owners for free. the
only catch is, i have to sign a 2 and a half year apprenticeship agreement,
along with a contract to work at the salon, 6 days a week for 5 years.
although this is a wonderful career opportunity, it is not what i had in
mind for the next 7 years of my life. levi and i have been talking about
trying to start a family in the next couple years, which would not be
possible if i had to work so many hours. i haven't made a decision yet, it
is a very tough one to make and would appreciate any advice and many
prayers.

If you'd like to chat sometime, let me know (I have lots of "meetings" at Dairy Queen). I'll be praying for you. I have some thoughts about this, based on our (Linda & me) experience and observations from others. Unless this is the only thing that will make your life worth living, I'm not sure I'd sign such a contract. Again - let's get together for a few minutes and I'd be happy to share what others have told me & taught me.

thank you.

i will see you next week!

-regina
