My last week at Webster....

May 14, 2007 17:26

Wednesday (May 9): I woke up at 7:30 and got ready. Amanda picked me up, we picked up doughnuts and juice at Schnuck's then headed to So. Illinois to apply for summer jobs. We got to Marion and applied at Target then headed to Murphysboro for Amanda's interview at Kroger's for a Pharmacy Technician position and she got the job! We ate lunch then went to apply in Wal-Mart (I really don't want to work there. I shop there occasionally, but I just don't want to work for such a crappy corporation that runs little places out.) and the application computer was definitely made back in the 80s and took forever. I finally gave up and said screw it! I am not meant to nor do I want to work here. We went on to my house to drop off some of my stuff from my apartment, so my load wouldn't be so heavy when I moved back over the weekend. We headed back to St. Louis, tried to go to an RFK Jr. public lecture and book signing because we thought public meant free and it was open to to obviously the public, but it was $75 a person. So, instead we went to Border's and looked for his books, I ended up buying a couple cds and a magazine then we went to Schnuck's to pick up what we were contributing to our last potluck in my apartment. I made the salad and Amanda made the garlic bread. We got back to my apartment and I made the salad then we waited until Lost was over because Beth and Jess are obsessed. Beth made a chicken dinner thing in the oven that was good, I made the salad, Amanda contributed the garlic bread and Jess provided the appetizer (garlic bread and red pepper hummus - I pretty much adore hummus) and Jess also brought rocky road ice cream for dessert. We ate. It was good. That night Amanda and I watched White Chicks and at first I didn't even want to see it, but it was rather funny.

Thursday (May 10th): We all got to sleep in, Amanda went to her last class for the semester then we ordered Chinese and ran some errands. That night I packed while watching Grey's and Amanda went to a dinner (that sucked) with her mom. She came back and I made Velveeta shells and cheese and Amanda cooked the steaks I had because I don't like handling raw meat. We watched Transamerica that I got from netflix (I recommend it. The movie and getting netflix) and I baked cookies and cleaned afterwards.

Friday (May 11th): We all slept in again, Amanda helped me load some stuff in my car then we ate at Blueberry Hill. That night we went to a private concert at a guy's house that hosts 7 or so concerts a year. The Redwalls were excellent as usual and it was great to see them in someone's living room that only held about 50 people. Plus, they had people bring food (that is what I baked the cookies for the night before) and there was a ton of food, free beer, soda and water. That night Amanda and I packed the majority of my stuff in my car.

Saturday (May 12th): I woke up after only gettin 4 hours of sleep, put a few things in my car then Amanda and I headed downtown to the Edward Jones Dome (that is where Webster University holds their graduation ceremonies) to see the keynote speaker - Nancy Pelosi, first woman U.S. Speaker of the House of Representatives, and she was awesome! I came back to the apartment to finish packing up my car and by the time I was down cramming all my stuff into my car, there was barely enough room for me. I got home and unpacked some of my car, wrapped my brother's birthday presents (I got him 2 special release Guster EPs then burned him a mix and copied my new Jon McLaughlin cd). We had a cookout for his birthday dinner, the family laid around, ate some cake and homemade ice cream and that was about it.

Sunday (May 13th): Mother's Day. We went to church then met my grandparents, aunt and great aunt at Cracker Barrel for lunch. It was good as usual then headed back to my grandparents house to open mother's day gift. We came home then I went to the mall and got some job applications along with a gift card and a card for my mother because I had only got her a necklace. I went onto Wal-Mart and met my mom and brother because my brother needed groceries. We left and came home, my mom opened her gifts and that is about it.

Today I got to sleep in, sat around then went and mowed 2 lawns. The only thing I have had thus far today to eat was a piece of cake. I am starving. I am gonna eat supper then go out and mow our lawn.
