Dilemma

First the good news - for all you readers who didn't already know, Lisa and I are expecting another bundle of joy!  The due date is April 10th, 2010.  We are going to find out the sex when we are able, but it won't be until late Nov or early Dec.

Now on to my dilemma.  A week and a half ago I interviewed for a part-time physical therapy job (approx 15 hours/month) at the local school district.  It sounded like a good fit for me so last Tuesday I went back to hear the offer and it was a good one, so I accepted the position.  The next day at lunch I checked my e-mail and had a message from my old clinical instructor at Hope Network asking me if I wanted to accept a part-time job with Hope.

Let me back up.  When I graduated from PT school, I interviewed at Hope and turned down the job because my current job pays a lot better and offered me some incentives in the form of tuition reimbursement.  I did, however, have to sign a five year contract.  The job at Hope was my number one pick but I turned it down because of the money at my current job.  So we settled on me being "on-call" at Hope and working full time at my current job.  Since summer 2008 I have only been called to work at Hope once, so I pretty much wrote them off (thus my reason for taking the school job).  I can't believe that ONE DAY after I agree to work at the school I get asked to work part-time at Hope.  Since I already accepted the school job, I basically told Hope that I couldn't do it.

TODAY, I talked to Nicole and couldn't believe my ears.  She wanted to know how much it would be to "buy-out" my current contract at my job now.  She said if they could afford to buy me out, she would offer me a full-time position as a PT/manager in a brand new 4,000 square foot clinic IN mount pleasant (currently I have to drive 20 mins to work, longer in the winter).  I didn't know what to say, so I told her I'd get back to her.  If I broke my contract at my current job, I would have to pay back all the money that they have given me for loan reimbursement, which would of course be covered by the "buy-out."

I doubt that Hope will be able to afford the "buy-out" but if they do, I wouldn't know what to do.  It doesn't get much better than becoming a manager of a brand new clinic and working with kids all day, but it would mean leaving my current clinic at which I have really grown and started building some great relationships.

We'll see whether or not they offer me the buy-out!

EEEEEEEKKKKK!
