This is my first attempt at a fanmix, so I would appreciate any feedback/constructive criticism. I wanted to do this to make a soundtrack that spans Dean and Castiel's entire relationship from when they first met to where they left off at the end of season five. Watching the relationship between a hunter and an angel grow from mutual dislike to ultimate trust, loyalty, and friendship has been one of the best things about Supernatural for me personally.
Note: To avoid confusion, I tagged the art with my personal journal,
recycleanimals.

Complete fanmix (90 MB) 01. Radiohead - Where I End and You Begin. (The Sky Is Falling In.)Set in "Lazarus Rising," when Castiel first meets Dean.
I'm up in the clouds
I'm up in the clouds
And I can't and I can't come down
I can watch and not take part
Where I end and where you start
Where you, you left me alone
You left me alone
02. Tom Petty - I Won't Back DownSet in "Are You There, God? It's Me, Sam Winchester," when Castiel threatens to throw Dean back in hell.
Well I won't back down, no I won't back down
You could stand me up at the gates of Hell
But I, won't back down
No I, stand my ground, won't be, turned around
And I keep this world from draggin' me down
Gonna stand my ground, and I, won't back down
03. Jonny Lang - Lie to MeSet in "In the Beginning," when Castiel sends Dean back in time to see that his path was always meant to be.
Lie to me, it doesn't matter anymore
It could never be, the way it was before
If I can't hold on to you
Leave me somethin' I can hold onto
For just a little while won't you, won't you let me be
04. Glen Hansard & Marketa Irglova - Falling SlowlySet in "It's the Great Pumpkin, Sam Winchester," when Castiel informs Dean he is to follow Dean's orders, no matter what he chooses.
Take this sinking boat and point it home
We've still got time
Raise your hopeful voice you had a choice
You've made it now
Falling slowly; sing your melody
I'll sing along
05. Chris Isaak - Wicked GameSet in "Heaven and Hell," when Castiel witnesses the intimacy between Anna and Dean.
The world was on fire and no one could save me but you
It's strange what desire will make foolish people do
I never dreamed that I'd love somebody like you
And I never dreamed that I'd lose somebody like you
06. Beck - It's All in Your MindSet in "On the Head of a Pin," when Castiel must ask Dean to torture Alistair.
Well I cannot believe
You got a devil up your sleeve
And he's talking to me
And I cannot believe
And I wanted to be
I wanted to be your good friend
07. The Rolling Stones - Wild HorsesSet in "The Rapture," when Castiel is punished by his superiors for getting too close to Dean.
I watched you suffer a dull aching pain
Now you've decided to show me the same
But no sweet, vain exits or offstage lines
Could make me feel bitter or treat you unkind
Wild horses couldn't drag me away
Wild, wild horses, couldn't drag me away
08. Damien Rice - DelicateSet in "Lucifer Rising," when Dean confronts Castiel about how wrong heaven's plans are and convinces him there are things worth dying for.
So why'd you fill my sorrow
With the words you've borrowed
From the only place that you've known
And why'd you sing Hallelujah
If it means nothing to you
Why'd you sing with me at all?
09. Pink Floyd - Wish You Were HereSet in "Sympathy for the Devil," when Dean learns Castiel sacrificed himself for Dean.
How I wish, how I wish you were here.
We're just two lost souls
Swimming in a fish bowl
Year after year
Running over the same old ground
What have we found
The same old fears
Wish you were here
10. Billy Joel - Lullaby (Goodnight My Angel)Set in "Good God, Y'all" when Castiel gets angry with Dean for not understanding how much he has sacrificed for him.
Goodnight, my angel
Time to close your eyes
And save these questions for another day
I think I know what you've been asking me
I think you know what I've been trying to say
11. Cat Power - WonderwallSet in "Free to Be You and Me," when Dean and Castiel go on a road trip together and bond over impersonating FBI agents and picking up whores.
Backbeat the word is on the street
That the fire in your heart is out
I'm sure you've heard it all before
But you never really had a doubt
I don't believe that anybody
Feels the way I do about you now
12. Led Zeppelin - Since I've Been Loving YouSet in "The End," when Dean gets sent to the year 2014 and sees that Castiel is no longer an angel, but a mortal drowning in drugs and sex.
Everybody trying to tell me that you didn't mean me no good
I've been trying, Lord, let me tell you, Let me tell you I really did the best I could
Since I've been loving you, I'm about to lose my worried mind
Said I've been crying, yeah, oh my tears they fell like rain
Don't you hear them, don't you hear them falling
Don't you hear them, don't you hear them falling
13. Bob Dylan - Knockin' on Heaven's DoorSet in "Dark Side of the Moon," when Dean tells Castiel about God's absence from heaven and how He no longer cares about mankind.
Mama, put my guns in the ground
I can't shoot them anymore.
That long black cloud is comin' down
I feel I'm knockin' on heaven's door
14. Radiohead - Bulletproof...I Wish I WasSet in "99 Problems," when Castiel drinks himself into oblivion after hearing the news about his Father.
Limb by limb and tooth by tooth,
Tearing up inside of me,
Every day, every hour, just wish that I...
Was bulletproof
Wax me, mould me,
Heat the pins and stab them in,
You have turned me into this, just wish that it
Was bulletproof
Was bulletproof
15. Damien Rice - Grey RoomSet in "Point of No Return," when Castiel beats Dean senseless after he hears Dean wants to say yes to Michael.
Have I still got you to be my open door
Have I still got you to be my sandy shore
Have I still got you to cross my bridge in this storm
Have I still got you to keep me warm
16. Grant Lee Buffalo - HappinessSet in "Two Minutes to Midnight," when Castiel apologizes to Dean for doubting him.
Nevermind the words that came
Out of my mouth when all that I could feel was pain
The difference in the two of us
Comes down to the way
You rise over things I just put down
17. Led Zeppelin - Babe I'm Gonna Leave YouSet in a hypothetical season six where Castiel goes back to Dean and pulls him away from Lisa and back into the hunting life.
I can hear it callin' me the way it used to do
I can hear it callin' me back home
Babe, I'm gonna leave you
Oh, baby, you know, I've really got to leave you
Oh, I can hear it callin 'me
I said don't you hear it callin' me the way it used to do?
Feedback would be great!
