*Too lazy to do a cut, so if you haven't seen "Walk the Line" and don't want a critique, don't read this*
Yes, we're all walkin the line aren't we. Most of the social nation, maybe most of the world will come to know the johnny cash story. But there's just something wrong there. Isn't Cash supposed to be cool? Well, there are still plenty of "cool" musician's left, heck songwriters that no one will ever know about. So yes, it's a good thing too. That whole Sam Phillips, Elvis, Jerry Lee, & Cash crew is gold. American gold. Crazy gumbi type. You can throw in Carl Perkins because he told Jerry Lee to stand up and play piano, and Sam bought him that cadillac he promised for going gold, even if it did go against his royalties.
I wont even say that the middle of the movie dragged, or that the camera angles of Mr. Phoenix playing guitar were annoying, because the end result was very positive. I've never been a Witherspoon fan at all, but she absolutely owned her character, I think more than anyone. Then again, the lead role had a much higher degree of dificulty and much respect to the performance especially in light of that. It reminded me a lot of Ray Liota's effort in Goodfella's. But don't let me be a movie critic. I've seen at most ten movies in the past year, and not much more than a hundred life time.
Curious as to how the record sales are going to go. Those record companies have to be licking their chops. Yes, why not be a little rueful.
