hey mad sorry it took me so long to finally read this. I think it's really good. Nah, I really do. It's stories and backgrounds like that that universities look for. They want driven people who understand the world around them and know how to affect and change it. That is you, mad. You were fortunate to have that epiphany at such a young age. The realization you are talking about did not happen to me until some random vacation in alabama where we drove through a neighborhood of shacks with corrugated tin roofs and I realized that kids just like me lived in them. That was probably in 4th or 5th grade for me, but you're just not really the same after you realize you're better off that 98% of the worlds population. I liked how you used Penury. I was expecting you to say poverty or something, but penury works better. Good luck getting into college.
