Funeral

Marita's funeral will be held in the Heysen Chapel at Centennial Park on Thursday 8th July 2010 at 1:30 pm. We have asked for no flowers but donations either to Oxfam or Medicins sans Frontieres. These were Marita's favoured charities.

I am so deeply sorry that I am still not strong enough to travel to be there with you all and to share in remembering Marita's life and saying goodbye. Marita was very special to me and her passing is so very, very sad - she is greatly missed by all of us here in Brisbane.

We will be there with you in spirit tomorrow - the girls and I will spend the time of the funeral in quiet reflection, lighting a candle next to her photo. We will remember and celebrate what a wonderful person she was - such a loving, compassionate, caring, special aunt to me, and an inspiration to all of us.

Our love especially to Chris, and to Sam, Robin and partners and children, and to all of Marita's siblings during this time. Our thoughts to all other family members, close friends and supporters, and particularly to those at her funeral. You have shown such incredible love, compassion and support through a deeply distressing period, and this would have brought great comfort to Marita. Bless you all. Chris, you will be in our thoughts over the coming days, weeks and months - may you be supported in times of need in your grief.
