Now that I have my computer, I've started really working on Angel's Story. I wrote three pages worth of stuff and really cleaned up some old, messy scenes today! Now I can finally sit down and work with it when the mood strikes me instead of digging up the flash drive and borrowing a computer and then *sigh* It's nice to have a computer of my own. Speaking of which, Sasha came with a test trial of the newest version of word/excell/power point/etc. Exciting.
So now I'm thinking about the story and getting it ready to send to agents in six months, and that's a little fast of a deadline, especially for me, procrastinator that I am, even when I'm excited about something. But then I discovered that Amazon's having a contest.
The Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award 2009. One of the prizes is a $25,000 publishing contract with Penguin. Wow. Submissions begin in February 2009. That's a little earlier than June! I don't think I'll be ready in time, but I'm going to try. If I don't have luck with an agent/publisher I can always hope for an Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award 2010. Or 2011. Or whatever.
