[ Dream ] Oh How Quickly Life Can Turn Around
[ Dream Effects ] Appropriate physical pain.

[ The setting is filled with a heavy mist. The figures can barely be seen, but as the vision moves closer a dome made up of several glass like sheets can be seen. Through the gaps in the mirrors Sasuke and a boy in bright orange can be seen panting. Cuts cover Sasuke's body as well as that of his friend. Both boys look determined, but it doesn't seem as if they're winning the fight.
"Again!" The orange-clad boy cries, and in a matter of seconds several clones of him jump out at the various mirrors. Another boy's reflection is in the mirrors, and with a speed that's too fast to follow he promptly defeats each of the clones leaving the original to crash back to the ground panting.
Sasuke is watching this intently as if he's trying to figure something out. His black eyes strain to see their assailant but it seems to do no good.
"Argh! I'm not giving up!" The blond stands up again and repeats the attack. Sasuke continues to attempt to watch their enemies movements. Naruto, the boy in orange, attacks again, and this time with a flurry of quick hand movements, Sasuke creates a small fireball and finally manages to hit Haku if only barely. Naruto crashes to the ground beside Sasuke again.
"Naruto, I think I figure out how to beat him. Can you still fight?"
"Yeah." Naruto stands slowly. He looks completely exhausted but there's still a determined fire in his eyes.
"Okay, I'll distract him, escape and attack the mirrors from the outside!" Naruto nods and runs for the wall of mirrors. The hand signs are formed again and the fire ball shot, but in a flash Haku has thrown a senbon, acupuncture needle, at Sasuke and has kicked Naruto away from the wall. Sasuke cries out as the needle pierces his left shoulder.
"Tch." Sasuke grabs at the needle and yanks it out of his shoulder. "That was good, let's do it again."
"Okay." Naruto stands and nods. Both boys run for opposite sides of the walls, but this time Sasuke is the target. Another senbon hits him in the knee followed quickly by several more in other parts of his body. Those that saw Sasuke when he first arrived will now come to realize just what he went through before coming to Somarium.
"Sasuke!" Naruto, now distracted by his friends cry of pain, is hit with his own series of senbon. He too cries out. The two land side by side and a girls voice cries out from beyond the mirrors. Sasuke looks to the wall concerned.
"Dammit. I need to do something." Sasuke's fist clench. Beside him Naruto stands again, and says the same words. He attacks Haku again only to be kicked back. "Naruto!" Sasuke runs over to his fallen friend though every limb seems to be screaming in pain. "Stop wasting your chakra! It's what he wants us to do!"
"I know." Naruto says as he tries to stand again. "But I can't give up." He falls back down to the ground.
"I'll end this now." Haku says throwing several more senbon at Sasuke's direction. The brunette bends down quickly and picks up one of the many senbon littering the floor and uses it to block the attack.
"Get up Naruto!" Sasuke shouts as he falls back to his knees.
"I know!" Naruto yells back. "Stop being so annoying." He pushes himself up as Haku lets loose another flurry of needles barely giving the boys a chance to get out of the way.
Sasuke seems to have learned to track Haku's movements better now. He's blocking more of the needles, covering for both himself and Naruto. He pushes Naruto out of the way of a flurry aimed right at him before dodging so he doesn't get hit himself. "I can't keep cover you! You better not pass out on me!" He can tell Naruto's growing weaker. The boys earlier attempts put a toll on his body.
"I'm not going to." A few moments later and he slumps to the ground beside Sasuke.
"Tch." Sasuke looks back at Haku.
"You can't win this." The various reflections of the boy hold more needles ready to pierce both boys.
"I can't lose." The thoughts remain unsaid, but in the dream their heard none the less. "I have to see through him. I have to! Just concentrate."
The dream seems to slow down. Haku releases his needles but they all fly in what seems like slow motion towards the two boys. In equal slowness, Sasuke reaches down, picks up Naruto, and dodges out of the way.
The dream picks up again and Sasuke drops Naruto beside him. He glances back up at Haku and his eyes are no longer black, but red with tear drop shapes swirling around the iris.
"He can see my movements." Haku lunges at Sasuke, but the dream slows down again, as Sasuke can now see the quick movements of his opponent. He grabs Haku's arm and swings him around so the other boy crashes against the mirrors though they don't break.
"..." Haku stands. He grasps more senbon determined on ending this now. He takes aim, but not at Sasuke.
In slow motion, Haku throws the senbon at Naruto. Sasuke runs determined to keep his friend safe. ]
[ The dream ends and Sasuke wakes up frowning. He doesn't realize the dreamberry is turned on and with an annoyed groan he rolls over and tries to ignore the memory/dream. ]
