Gosh, I've been so busy lately, I've neglected my little journal lately. Time to blow the dust off.
Ok, once I get over the coughing fit from all that dust, I promise, I'll say something important.
God, I sound like a seal. Coughing that hard hurts. Luckily, when I get that sicky-hacky thing going, I've got the
best lady in the world to take care of me. You're all jealous. I know. It's ok.
I'll forgive you all if you come to the wedding next week. December 20th. I slip a ring on her finger, and she slips one on mine, and it's all official. I'll be married again.
My momma's flown in early to help me on the final run-through of preperations. We've been working for the last two days on the menu for the reception. Momma wants real Texas barbecue. She's a hair from insisting she cook it all herself, can you believe it? I told her, unless she starts now, she probably isn't gonna be able to come up with enough.
We had to take a break from things yesterday. Too much, you know? When you hit information overload point, it's always best to step back, and decompress a little. It's helped me over the years, God knows. So, momma and I went and saw The Chronicles of Narnia, and I totally fell in love with it. If I wasn't marrying Aly in a week, I'd absolutely be stalking Liam Neeson, just from that voice of his. Perfect for Aslan. I'm so happy that they decided to go with him when they realized that Bryan Cox wasn't working. I can't imagine anyone else as Aslan's voice now. The kids were fantastic, too. I'm kinda wishing that the girls hadn't totally been left out of the big battle. Seemed a little...convenient to me. But momma just kinda rolled her eyes when I brought it up. I'm used to it, though.
I gotta go pick up my wedding dress in a half hour. Then spend the rest of the day finding a place to hide it in the house so Aly doesn't immediately stumble on it. Wish me luck.
