Guys, I'm sorry I haven't been around much lately. I've been too busy making EVERYTHING EVER. I can't stop. And there's no end in sight - next Friday my friend and I are going to have a table at my company craft fair, selling tiny Jewish apple cakes and pumpkin bread to raise money for our burgeoning craft workshop business.
ANYWAY. I have pictures. :D
This blanket was made for a coworker who is having a baby girl at the end of the month. She is very traditional and very feminine, so I made the blanket match her personality.
Started: 9/22/09
Finished: 11/01/09
I pieced together the pattern from 3 different places:
- Middle panel with eyelets taken from
DROPS Design blanket- The ruffle was taken from the
Rhapsody in Lace and Ruffles shawl.
- The loopy border was taken from
this Lion Brand pattern.
Yarn: Knit Picks Comfy in Honeydew and Ivory
They are little flowers, see? I really like how this one turned out. Not at all my own taste, but adorable all the same.
Aaaand my Mad Men Halloween costume! I made this dress! (Poorly!)
And my other Mad Men friends. My beehive was 100% my actual hair and it took 20 minutes of crying and ripping out hairballs at 4 a.m. Saturday night to make it come out ;_;
Hahaha that was awesome. I got soooo drunk Saturday night, oh my god. Vodka and Red Bull make me act like a lunatic, apparently. In a good way. I think. ;D
I also made this ridiculous tiny stage and a bunch of Photoshopped vintage magician posters for something at work. This is me, my boss, and one of my coworkers earlier this week.
I'd explain, but I'm too tired and I'm sure you don't really care haha. But I had to show you guys the tiny stage. I was a ~*magician's assistant*~ LOL
So. I'm now working on my EIGHTH blanket since last summer. EIGHTH. My hands! My poor hands! I can't wait until I can finally make something for MYSELF again. Every night when I get home from work I do the "Time to make the donuts" guy impression and walk into my room toward my knitting stuff going, "Time to make the blanket."
I have to get all this done before LOST comes back and sucks up all my time for 6 months!
This weekend if I get a minute I'll post some pictures of adorable animals from that trip to upstate New York I went on earlier this month. Alpacas are seriously the cutest animals on the planet, I swear.
