Proving once again I have too much time on my hands...

Want to see the ridiculous Harry Potter-related dessert I concocted this weekend in celebration of the movie coming out?

So this is The Cave scene recreated with brownies and marzipan and melted sugar (for the lake surface - it was hard as a rock!!) and little plastic policeman as zombies!

That glow stick bracelet looked wicked cool at night hahaha. The mound in the middle was brownies and smashed Oreos. And there was green sugar in the basin thingy because I, unlike the MOVIE, care about CANON (lolz).

Marzipan is fun. I painted these with food coloring - they were totally edible!

My friends were highly amused when they saw it.

These are the "zombies" coming out of the water. Some of them had megaphones hahaha.

So that's what we ate after we went to see the movie on Sunday.

And I have some knitting photos! Two different baby blankets - one in progress, one finished.

This is the one in progress. I'm making it for my best friend from high school who won't know if she's having a boy or girl until the day he/she is born.

Pattern: Multi-Directional Scarf
Yarn: Kauni Effektgarn 8/2

I will be making 5 scarves altogether, sewing them together, and adding a big square border around them. I stole the idea off someone on Ravelry! HOW COOL IS THIS GOING TO BE!?

This yarn is the prettiest yarn of all the yarn. To any knitters out there, it's a self-striping yarn, but since this scarf is all short rows it does this awesome fadey thing.

I just want to make everything out of this yarn.

And here is the one I finished a few weeks ago:

Pattern: OpArt
Yarn: Cascade 220

I made this for a coworker who is having a girl. Her room is going to have a ladybug theme. My coworker and her husband are both into funky artsy stuff, so I didn't think they'd mind if I made them a crazy Twilight Zone baby blanket :D

All garter stitch, baby. I finished this thing in less than a month!

And since I have you all here, I have 2 exciting craft-related things to tell you!

1. I decided I'm totally going to Rhinebeck Sheep and Wool Festival this year. If anyone out there is going, let's meet up!!! We can knit and get drunk together!!

2. This is in its most primordial stages at the moment, but my friend and I are thinking about opening a craft studio in Philadelphia in the next year or two. (Kind of like this place in NYC, but ours has a twist...more on that at a later date.)

It is quite possibly The Coolest Thing Ever. When I know more I will fill you all in!!! I'm SUPER SUPER excited about the possibility! My life could be going in a totally new direction with this! I don't want to get my hopes up too high at the moment, but the thought of it has my heart all aflutter :D
