Keep Calm and Carry On

+ To all those Benry lovahs on my f-list, go check out airings' ICON POST!!! There are like 700 Ben icons and they're all fantastic!!! There's other awesome stuff too!

+ Nothing too exciting going on in the last few days, apart from drinking way too much red wine and going out for a) pumpkin pancakes b) awesome Indian food and c) a Pat's steak at like 2 a.m. and being so drunk at the time that I dipped/coated my scarf in onions and cheese.

However, tomorrow night I start my super hangout long weekend, which will consist of seeing half the people I know in one way or another, and eating and drinking entirely too much. Should be awesome. I freaking love Thanksgiving.

+ I was v. excited to see that one of the pages on my site went over 10,000 hits the other day!! I don't know if that's big news or small potatoes, but I was pleased :D (It was that WTF Moments of Lost List I wrote over the summer!)

+ I've been knitting a baby blanket forEVER and I'd like it to end now, plz.

I'm making this for my cousin (who is way younger than me, so it's bizarre that she's having a babeh) who is having a girl in January.

For the knitters in the hizzie, I'm using Cascade 220 in "Kansas" on size 7 needles. In real life the color of the yarn is like dusty yellowish peach with little flecks of pale green, not so mustardy!

It's seed stitch for the center panel and then this cool heart-shaped cable for the border. Which is sewn on all willy nilly at the moment (I'm just making sure I knit the border to the right length).

And here's a close up of the cable. I got it from this awesome book The Harmony Guide to Aran and Fair Isle Knitting. It's awesome, it just takes FOREVER. I've been working on this thing nonstop since the first week of September!

I have to have this done by December 7th! O_o

+ Back in England during WWII the Ministry of Information had hung these posters around the cities and towns that simply said "Keep Calm and Carry On." I recently became aware of these posters (and the replicas that are being made) and I realized that it perfectly encapsulated my own personal motto. So I bought one. From this chick. And I hung it up right above my bed. Look!

Bonus adorable cat in that photo. That's Mona. &hearts

+ I am very happy The IT Crowd is back. And also that Roy now has a beard :D

+ TV!! Chuck's been great lately (I've listened to that song from the end of last week's episode like 500 times this week). Supernatural's been AWESOME (apart from any of the ridiculous sex scenes that have occurred lol GROSS). Dexter's been getting kind of weird, but I haven't seen the most recent episode yet - don't spoil me! I loved Angel leaving a message for that lady cop last week lol. And House has been okay. Tonight's episode looks badass. Juliet's dick ex-husband is on it! Maybe he'll get hit by a bus!

+ I've been rewatching BSG is preparation for its MAJESTIC RETURN ON 1/16 's;lfk';sldkf;ld "Six Degrees of Separation" is one of my favorite Gaius episodes ever. NO MORE MR. NICE GAIUS. omg.
