You should totally do a Jack poll. I'm not ashamed of others knowing about my love of Jack! Perhaps there are others out there on your flist, hiding out. Haha :D
Yeah...it's...well I mean it's not like it's a matter of losing friends over a fictional character or something, but I know certain people pretty much avoid all my Lost chatter because they know what's lurking in the comments. I mean no one likes their favorite characters to be made fun of...constantly...LOL. I've said forever that if someone wants to make fun of Sawyer as much as I make fun of Jack they can go right ahead, but the problem is that Sawyer is really hard to make fun of. He is just that cool hahaha.
But yeah there was actually someone who shall remained unnamed that I actually had to defriend because half of their entries were basically "I fucking hate people that fucking hate Jack." LOL oh well.
Hahahahhaa you know I had like 5 different things written on that and I finally picked that one because it can be used by both Team Jack people and Team anti-Jack people hahaha. The face he is making is priceless.
Hahaha oh god can I remember now? Um I think one said something like "Jack wins" and then it would have been animated and the next thing would have said "at being a dick" HAHAHA. There were more, but I forget them all. They were all variations on him thinking he's hot shit and me...disagreeing. Hahaha.
I don't mind people making fun of Jack. He's far from perfect and has done some stupid shit (and, as your icon shows, his flashback wigs always bring the lulz). I find the sort of thing on your journal to be good humored (as opposed to the vitriolic stuff I've seen elsewhere)
In another fandom I'm in, there's a board where the predominant opinion is HATE for this one character I really like. As in, the whole "I hope she dies a horrible death ASAP" thing. This just boggles my mind. Some people get too emotionally invested and forget that it's just a tv show and you should enjoy and have fun with it. Needless to say, I avoid that board for the sake of my sanity.
Yeah! That is the big difference, I'm just making fun of a character on a TV show, not your best friend or something. As insane as I am about my fandoms, I never lose sight of the fact that they are in fact fictional, and that whether or not I defend them until the day I die doesn't matter. At all. It's just a TV show! LOL people are so crazy, the insane flame wars that go on over this stuff just slays me. So yeah, I may make fun of him, but seriously it's not like if he was a real person I'd want to stab him in the throat or anything. I'd think he was a jerk and avoid him. In fact, I'd most likely think Sawyer was a jerk and avoid him too.
