LJ is being UNBELIEVABLY wonky today Y/Y?
HUGE CONGRATS to wickedandlost WHO JUST GOT CHOSEN TO BE ON VH-1'S WORLD SERIES OF POP CULTURE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am SO SO SO JEALOUS. She is going to kick everyone's ass!!!
Nothing much going on these days. I still have 10 days before my job starts, and $90 to last me until then. Fun.
So since I'm bored and I can't buy any new yarn, I had to start getting creative and start knitting from out of my stash. The other day I started knitting what I am now calling the Sherbert Socks. LOL.
Okay so I wanted to make the Red Herring socks, but I have no idea how to do that crazy knitting-two-sock-at-once thing, so I decided to use the Widdershins pattern for a plain sock and then just use the herringbone pattern and make the toe and the heel in the complimentary color.
And these first two pictures are dedicated to truffle_shuffle, whose reaction to the fact that people knit with 5 needles at once made me LOL. Here is the proof :D
This is what it looks like when you cast on a toe-up sock using size 1 dpns. I absolutely hate my size 1's because one of them is broken and WAY too bendy. So I made the toe on size 1 and then switched to size 3 after a while. I also have really big feet, so whatevs.
I'd like to say it's not as confusing as it looks, but it kind of is. LOL
So I'm using orange and peach yarn from some fair isle mittens I made a few months ago. These are literally the ONLY colors I had that would even kind of go together. Hence, SHERBERT SOCKS!!!
This is what it looked like while I was turning the heel.
And this is what it looks like at the moment. Socks always look stupid when they're not on a foot.
And here is a close-up of the herringbone. I totally effed up the first 15 rows or so (and just ended up making stripes), but I really don't care. I'm not out to win any awards with these monstrocities hahaha. I'm really just making them because I'm really bored and poor.
I feel kind of sick. My head is KILLING ME. I think I might just continue my BSG marathon and knit more. I wish Futurama was on 24 hours a day. I also really want to see Zodiac, but no money = no movies ;_;
