More Circu--er...Politics, and a Workout

I truly feel for everyone affected by the newest act of terrorism, i.e. the London bombings. My sympathies go out to all the victims' families.

Unfortunately, I don't really know what's happened there recently, as I've been selfishly watching the soap opera presented by the local "circus" (a.k.a. the government) on television all day.

Malacañang must be an absolute loony bin by now. I wonder how many people out there actually believe Mike's exit was an "act of sacrifice" as the first family claims and not an "escape"?

(Seriously, as I've said, I hate politics, but even I think the government has been rather exciting these past few days. Annoying, but exciting, nevertheless.)

Anyway, after decades of planning and postponing, "workout buddy" shpoink (indeed, the "quotes" are essential there...this is the same shpoink I used to go swimming with thrice a week and end up eating almost-bottomless nachos with salsa and ooh-ey gooey cheese after...) and I finally got to go swimming again. And I realized I really have been blobbing it up these past months, 'cause I was, well, short of breath the whole time. And swimming actually used to relax me.

Then again, it may be because I ate my weight in Japanese food during our lunch buffet yesterday. Yummmm.

I have got to stop talking about food.

ETA: Oh, yeah...I decided to tweak my page a bit again. I've gotten sick of my old layout, which I'd started to think was a bit too...well...blue.

And by the way, did anyone else encounter the horror-ble traffic jam at EDSA? What was that about, anyway? But you'll all probably be sooo proud of me 'cause I'm not bickering and ranting about the car chaos like I normally do. I've programmed a certain mantra that shall play in my brain each and every time I get stuck in the awful metro traffic.

The mantra -- "I will learn to be patient. I can be patient. This is simply a test of patience."

And hey, believe it or not, it works for me :)

driving sucks, in the news, dabarkadah
