Andrew's been pushing me to play online poker for a while now, and a few days ago he introduced me to a really easy strategy that is remarkably successful. I've been testing it out at the $25 limit tables, and tonight I moved up to the $100 limit (with Andrew talking me through each hand...I don't think I could play very well on my own yet, but I'm getting better), and it's a really great beginning strategy. I haven't really had any downswings yet though, but Andrew's doing a good job of training me to not get upset if you lose the pot when you've played a perfect hand. Sometimes bad players get lucky, and that's just part of the game. I made around $100 in a couple of hours of playing, so this could be incredibly profitable if I get good enough to play on my own at the higher levels. The plan is to get experience playing a few hours a day while Andrew is around for the next month, then when we're away, I'll read as much about poker strategy as I can. That's the no-fun part. But once I train my brain to automatically think about pot odds, and percentages and so forth, I'll be good.
I'm really not sleepy at all right now, and I have to drive Andrew to work tomorrow morning in Lincoln. I should really stop taking naps.
