notes: omg I’m writing het.

The first time he saw her, Sam knew. He couldn’t explain it later -- maybe it was the light on her hair, that wicked twist of her mouth, the way she looked back at him without a trace of doubt. She was fearless. She reminded him of Dean.

Sam wasn’t the one to make the first move, she was. Walked up to him like she knew exactly how it was all going to end and stuck out her hand.

"Jess."

Her smile was even better up close, more wicked and more sweet at the same time; she dazzled without even trying. He nearly forgot he was supposed to say something back.

At the last minute he remembered and took her hand in his.

"Sam."

The Wincester got stuck somewhere in the back of his throat, but she didn’t seem to mind. Her hand was delicate and warm but her grip was as strong as his. This girl, she was something.

Later, he’ll remember this as the first time he thought he might be in love. Later, he’ll wonder if his father thought something similar the first time he saw Sam’s mother.
