this feels like the start of a backstreet boys song
Okay this has been driving me crazy as I know I've read this - and bookmarked/mem'd it...only it seems to've disappeared, or hell, maybe I didn't save it like I thought. IDEK. And surprisingly my fic-finding-fu doesn't work for fandoms in which I have close to no experience at all: Smokin Aces.
But the fic was pretty awesome and I really enjoyed reading even though, at the time, I didn't have a context for the characters. Pretty sure one of y'all recc'd it @ one time or other as idk where else I woulda stumbled on it. Anyway. It was an AU set post movie, where Darwin...and whoever the 'good' guy's name was (can you tell I haven't actually watched this movie? ^^;;) end up becoming partners. During the course of said fic Darwin gets a little less...Deliverance, and there are some nice descriptions on how he's trying to deal with life without his brothers - and his 'new' life with his new partner. Eventually there's slash (c'mon, do I read a lot else?) but that's not really what drives the plot.
