Friday Five
...so technically this ended up being the Saturday Five. Oh well. I got to see Wall-E so I'm giving myself a pass this time.
First up, three with SPOILERS for 4x01.
1. Every One of Us a Liar by musesfool - what is now my canon for what happened just after 4x01. Everything I've come to love about Dean is right here, complete with an echo of one of everyone's favorite angsty moments of Season 2.
2. The Boy Who Played Atlas by philomel - He holds him, holds his gaze. Shows him everything he can. If it's not enough, he hopes it will do....Sam in his arms. Sam inside of him. Sam can't save him. But he tried. Sam/Dean & some damn good writing.
3. vain_chan's Up From Perdition - good sweet jesus on a pogostick. THIS is my canon for what happened just before 4x01.
& as a break from all the Season 4 based fic:
4. To Lift Any Burden by cellshader - John's home from a hunt. Dean waits. The last sentence says it best I think: He knows something of the life he could start by making it home for dinner. It’s a short life, and in a short time it ends with him coming back home to absolutely nothing at all.
5. Attached by not_refined - part of the Still Life verse. I cannot get enough of her beautiful, broken Dean. And Sam, oh Sam, honey you're trying so damn hard.
