I need a distraction...

I just re-watched Control, which was an incredibly stupid move on my part. That movie always depresses the hell out of me anyway (stupid emotionally manipulative use of "Atmosphere"), but then, it had to remind me that Ian Curtis was 23 years old when he killed himself, and guess what age I am turning this year? So, in conjunction with the normal ( Read more... )

Not at all, I love your long comments! *hugs*

Nowadays, the only US shows I watch with enthusiasm are Arrested Development and IASIP, both of which have shortened seasons (the latter by choice, the former because FOX are a bunch of twits), because they are the only two US series that I feel really match British shows in terms of the darker directions they go with their plots, the risks they take, and the fact that their shorter seasons mean a higher percentage of awesome episodes.

I love The Thick of it. I do have to catch up on the most recent series, but it really is brilliant, and Peter Capaldi is fantastic in it.

I saw Pulp ages after it first came out, but when I did see it, it was no less radical. Sure, my obsession with how Quentin writes, both in terms of dialogue and narrative, was a post-Basterds phenomenon, but it doesn't mean that I didn't love it beforehand, and Pulp (as well as Reservoir Dogs) was the reason for that. Really, in terms of writing, he is who I aspire to be. As for the foot massages, given Tarantino's foot fetish, I'm guessing that he intended for them to come across as erotic. ;)

Trust me, if I have the money to go to the Pixies, I'm going. It'd be fine if they were coming to Adelaide, I'd be able to afford the price of the tickets now. It's just things like plane tickets and accomodation that are going to be the bitch. Also, it's funny that you mentioned Doolittle, because the reason that they're touring is to celebrate the 20th anniversary of its release.

Yeah, I know who Henry Rollins is (CA hardcore punk is my second favourite type of punk, after the early UK stuff), and that would be so awesome if you do end up seeing him. :D

As for a Who picspam, I will definitely be doing one. It might not be for a while, because I want to watch both parts back to back in order to sort out how I actually feel about the episodes (which is why I have been avoiding reaction posts like the plague, I don't want any other people's opinion colouring my own), but it will definitely be done. How could I not picspam the beauty of John Simm?

...Hmm, you mentioned something about long comments? *facepalm*

Um... I do believe that the word "UNF" properly conveys my initial reaction to seeing that picture. "Do me" and "fuck, yes" may also have sprung to mind. ;)

Thanks for the link, my dear. There is nothing quite like waking up to a bit of Fassy hotness.
