I finally got around to answering those "Top 5 fandom things" some of you asked me to complete a week or so ago. They are all answered in this one post, and have bonus pictures and youtube videos, so to say this is a longish post would be a bit of an understatement. There is just something about She's Lost Control. I listen to both the album version and this live recording I have entirely too much, and it doesn't lose that edge in either version. The album version is more dark and melancholic, but there is this immediacy about the live version, a sort of desperate panic, that clearly illustrates just how much Ian could relate to those lyrics due to his own issues with Epilepsy.
The LoM quotes took me ages. In the end, I just had to choose the five that made me laugh the most, although I could easily have made a separate list of the quotes that effected me the most, and yet another one about quotes that summarise the series for me. I like the following lines for #2 as well, but I decided that I would only keep each choice to maximum length of two lines, and that was the line that makes me laugh the most.
I think if you have any interest in rock music whatsoever, you would want to have been at Woodstock. It's the definitive rock event, really.
I'd sell almost anything to be able to see Bowie live, even now, but the Ziggy Stardust era will always hold a special place in my heart. And if either of us managed to acquire a TARDIS, can you imagine all of the gigs we would be able to go and see together?
