I'm bored, so I thought that a good way to pass some time (and in doing so, avoid cleaning my bedroom) would be to post about random things. Not that my life has been exciting at the moment, or anything. The most interesting thing that has happened to me over the last week was when I went out last night, got slightly drunk, and went clubbing. Surprisingly I'm alright today. My feet are slightly tender, but I thought that, at the very least, my throat would be killing me as well (yes, I have an unfortunate habit of singing and/or yelling to the songs that I like. In my defence though, I defy anyone to hear "Killing In The Name Of" by Rage Against The Machine and not automatically yell certain lines when slightly inebriated). I also fear that there may be photographic evidence of the aforementioned attempts at "dancing". I must find, and then burn, said photographic evidence.
In other news, it is now official: The Chaser's War on Everything will be over in two weeks. Even though I always preferred CNNNN to the War on Everything, I will miss it something shocking when it's over and done with. Especially considering how this week's episode was such a return to form. Chas harrassing public figures will never grow old, and
the rudd.i.am song had me crying with laughter (just a quick warning if you decide to watch this video though, there is one line in it that is a bit of an earworm. I had it stuck in my head for most of Thursday, and when it's just the one line that's stuck in your head, it's rather evil). It's weird, but it's almost as though the end of an era, in a bizarre way. If any show could be called the definitive show of my time as a Uni student, it would be the Chaser, and now that it's ending it has just dawned on me that I won't be a Uni student for much longer either (well, I say not much longer. But when you've been at Uni for four and a half years, a year and a half isn't that long in comparison). It also doesn't help that, unlike a fictional show such as Life on Mars or Arrested Development, it's probably not a show I will go back and watch repeats of. The thing with a show that satirises modern society and politics is that, soon enough, that era of society and politics will past, and any jokes made at their expense will lose some of their potency. So it's more like an actual goodbye, which is a little bit sad.
On to shows that are still continuing now, and ABC has FINALLY announced when they will be airing the first series of
Ashes to Ashes. About bloody time! I shouldn't complain too much about the delay, after all Aunty does show them exactly how they were initially seen in the UK, which is better than the treatment in receives in other countries. But ever since series 2 ended, I've been waiting to see series 1 again, because I haven't seen most of those episodes since they originally aired.
In somewhat related news, I do love him, really I do, but
Phil Glenister needs to stop auditioning for a role in Attack of the Killer Shop Mannequins in every public outing photo. I'm just sayin'.
And I'm getting to those letter meme replies from a couple of posts back, I swear. I just can't really be bothered thinking all that much today ;p
