Excitement, adventure and really wild things!!!

I'm probably way behind the times with this announcement, but I only just discovered that there next year, EA Games are going to release The Sims 3. When I first heard about it, I was thinking thoughts along the lines of why would I need it? Then I read about the new features, and realised why I need this game and why I need it yesterday.

First of all, the new changes to the Build and Buy mode (which, admittedly, is an aspect of the game I sometimes find myself partaking in than actually playing with the Sim characters). The new capabilities allow you to arrange the furniture at any angle you want (I have to admit I flailed about that because that was one aspect of the previous Sims games that always annoyed me). You can also buy empty bookcases and then fill them with the books of your choice and upper wall cabinets (which I already downloaded as a decorative item, but I assume these ones are functional) . Plus, this time around your trees, bodies of water and general outdoor living things will move with whatever the weather is (so if it's windy, the water will ripple and the trees will bend, etc). And then, there are the changes to the Sims themselves.

Apparently, every Sim will now be unique in every aspect, even in regards to how they sound. There are also actual accessories, you can choose which shoes go with which outfit and there are going to be more facial features, such as moles and the like. Each Sim will have favourite things (music, etc), and (and this is probably what I am geeking out about the most) your Sim can acquire traits. So, say you had a Simm!Master Sim, you can make him insane (I have a feeling I'm going to be setting alot of mine to insane), genius, mean spirited (and apparentyl, a mean-spirited Sim is happier with the more enemies they have - which is perfect for the Master), flirty and easily bored (each young adult Sim and above have 5 personality traits each). Not that I have fandom character Sims. Not at all... Plus, there are heaps more changes listed here. I now kind of can't wait until 2009 (oh, and possibly having the money to buy said game. That could be useful.)!
And for non-Sim'ers, here's a completely random, dial-up destroying picspam!

Featuring: Philip Glenister, John Simm, David Tennant, Freema Agyeman, Billie Piper, Catherine Tate, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, NPH, Firefly cast, Summer Glau, Shirley Manson and Kirsten Bell (spoilers for season 4 of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia and the season 2 premiere of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.

Heh, how I love them. Let me count the ways.

OT3!!!

I think it's considered illegal to have a Simm picspam and not include this picture, and who am I to defy laws clearly established to serve the general public's best interests?

GUH! (They really are a ridiculously good looking couple.)

*grumble*Freaking watermarks*grumble* And it really is a shame, because he looks gorgeous in this pic.

Yeah, I kind of want to see The Lakes, and not just for scenes like this. Apparently season 1 is really good, and season 2 has Marshall Lancaster (Chris Skelton for LoM) in it.

Have I mentioned how much I have to see Crime and Punishment? Because I need to see it. Alot. Even moreso after having just read the novel, because I have the feeling that if I had read it without knowing that Simm played Raskolnikov, it would most likely be one of a litany of book characters I would like to see him play if it were to be made in a visual medium. Just the way the character of Raskolnikov is, so introverted and wrapped up in his own guilt, self-pity and nihilistic, depressive urges, and knowing how brilliantly John Simm can act, makes me think he would be perfect for that role. Especially considering the depressive, half-insane edge he gave to Sam Tyler.

There are several things that I like about this picture. I'll let you guess what those things are.

Um, yes. I think I'll be in my bunk.

Daww, he's so freaking adorable in his tuxedo and Chuck Taylors *ruffles his hair*

I've only seen the first two episodes of Secret Diary of a Callgirl, and I just have to say that candesgirl , you were right.

Hypnoboobies!

I still miss you Donna. You rock more than anything else has ever rocked in the whole of space and time and you deserve a hell of alot better than you got.

I cannot wait for season 4 of It's Always Sunny. There is actually going to be a Nightman musical, and if it's anything like the original song, it's going to be wrong on so many levels, yet hilariously funny (or, in other words, so It's Always Sunny). And plus, one can never see Dennis in his neo-Bowie outfit enough.

Anything. That's what he'd do. Because he is legen - wait for it...

I hope you're not lactose intolerant because the next word is... dary (as well as utterly adorable - he even has the Death Ray!).

I still think that the Firefly cast is one of the prettiest television casts ever. For that reason alone (not to mention other, less shallow reasons like it being a brilliant show with interesting characters and one of my all time favourite sibling relationships) it's such a shame it was cancelled. Stupid Fox *is still bitter over AD*

Yet another reason why Firefly should have lasted longer (the world needs more shirtless Simon Tam dammit!)

*sigh* She's so pretty. I have a soft spot for brown eyes, as well as ones that are almond-shaped, and hers are just perfect.

GUN PORN! With bonus shiny metal bits!

I am so pulling for the bad guys of T:SCC at the moment.

After the T:SCC season 2 premiere, my girl crush on Shirley Manson has been reborn. She's just so sexy (her voice as well as her looks).

I just have to say that those are killer shoes. They would be a bitch to wear but they're so sexy.
