So it seems that yesterday's post of angst and whine really did help after all. Unlike the past week, the thing wasn't circling around in my head all day, I guess I just needed to get it out. Also, it made me realize that one of the reasons it's bugging me so much is because it means I'll be yet another year behind what should have been my graduating class. Which sucks, a lot. But I realized that I need to stop caring about the rest of my year, who cares if they're 3 years ahead of me, I need to focus on ME when it comes to school, nobody else. Therefore, I need to stop worrying about people being ahead of me. I'm glad I realized that. It helps.
I basically spent my day doing nothing today, despite my will to be active during the next 6 weeks. I got most of my laundry done (You don't know how many socks you have until you put them one by one, individually into the washing machine. I filled an entire load with just socks. And our washing machine is HUGE!) and I've got my room officially cleaned and sorted through, I just need to find proper places for all my shit now. I also did a small bit of job hunting today and then spent the rest of my time playing my Lima town in the Sims 2 (I adore this town. I've made a point of making EVERY SINGLE glee characters and what I imagine to be their families. I really do mean every single. I have all the minor characters too :B Tis so much fun to play). Oh, and I watch Glee. 3 Times. I'm not obsessed, I just watched it when it aired, watched it with my mom when she got home, and then watched it to find where I wanted to cap for icons. Perfectly reasonable. (BTW, glee this week was AMAZING! It completely made up for all the low parts of the last few episodes)
Anyways, I'll stop wall of texting and get to the part you guys actually care about now.
So, it started like any other FCBD. I got up ridiculously early, waited around until Roxanne got up and called me. Walked to Roxanne's, let myself in and waited until her dad and her were ready to go. Then set off in a ball of excitement.
We got downtown, where most of the shops are located, at about 10:30ish, half an hour after the shops opened and we decided to hit Heroes Comics first because they always have the longest line. We were in line at Heroes for 2 and a half hours. But as it turns out it was completely worth it.
Heroes is always big on FCBD and this year they had employee's dressed up and going up and down the line. :)
Darth kind of just sauntered up and down the line waving his lightsaber and taking pictures with people, but Spiderman and Superman completely made my morning and made the line worth it. They went up and down the line switching between handing out capsule toys to the kids and handing out free water bottles.
Spiderman was great with the kids. He made a show of hoping around like spidey and striking poses. He even made attempts to hang off light poles and jump over stuff like raised concrete and garbage cans. (Spidey also decided that he didn't need to wear cloths under his extremely thin costume, so he was a little awkward to look at from behind or if he was holding still, but he tended to keep moving so it's all good. Haha)
Superman on the other hand, made my day by constantly walking by and smiling. He was gorgeous. Like, the picture here doesn't do him justice at all, but it's the only one I have. Honestly, I think I'm going to need to start frequenting Heroes comics, because I don't think I've ever seen a comic geek whose that attractive. (I'm also really wishing I had got to talk to him more than just asking for a water bottle and a picture).
These guys here were in front of us in line. There were also 4 Jedi's and a Sith Lord with them, but they weren't nearly as interesting.
And surprisingly enough, these guys here were also part of the Star Wars party. It's not often you see these to fandoms getting along when in costume.
And then Darth showed up again.
And Spidey wandered around with a camera taking pictures. Which made me laugh. A LOT!
Also, a couple of feet in front of us there was a girl dressed up as Misty, which is really something you never see on FCBD. So I got a picture for you guys.... kind of.
See, she was kind of scary and I didn't really want to approach for a picture.... cause I'm a chicken shit. So you guys get creepy stalkerish pictures instead. Enjoy.
Anyways, after a good 2 and a half hours we finally got inside and the first thing I did was go to the T-shit section.
AND LOOK WHAT I FOUND!!!! :D !!!
I actually found 5 different Sheldon shirts (I shall be going back to get the Flash one later this week), but this was the first one I found, and took a picture of, before I realized that Heroes apparently regularly stalks Sheldon shirts. (WHICH IS AMAZING!)
And then on my way out, I won a free TP! And all I have to say about it is;
'Sup Obama?!
That's really all that happened note worthy, but here's the rest of my haul from the day.
Free Stuff
Teen Titans
Every year I make a point of seriously looking for the issues I'm missing. This year I found four, and then got an old one featuring Starfires backstory for free.
And then I spent $26 dollars my soul, on the first 7 issues of The Runaways.
And that was my Saturday. All it all I think it was AMAZING! Even though one of the comic shops was out of free comics by the time we got there, and no one ordered the Lady Gaga comic (I'm still pissed about this. I wanted it SO bad). But really, I had so much fun on Saturday. I love watching the downtown population try to figure out why they've been swarmed by Nerds in costumes. haha.
PS. Please ignore the ugly bed sheets in the background of the comic pictures, Mobie tracked mud all over my orange sheets so I'm stuck with them at the moment. bleh.
