He looks younger than ever in those ridiculous things, fuzzy and red, covering up his entire, slender body. He scratches at his collar, right at the place where the zipper ends, where it is just a little bit undone and the ends folded over. “Tom, you look ridiculous. It’s just silly.”
“Leslie.” He shakes his head - probably because she’s unhip and just doesn’t get it, but this is one of those trends in youth culture that Leslie just doesn’t want to get. “This is fashion,” he says. He spins around, the bottoms of the little feet just as good as socks for sliding around. He tries to do the moonwalk next but isn’t successful, playing it off with a big grin, raising his arms up and looking down at his new pajamas. “Heard of Two Right Feet? Of course you haven’t; it’s brand new. They’re making pairs for all the celebrities. I heard Kanye’s getting a pair… with his own face on them.”
“That’s… that’s great, Tom.” Leslie had chosen much more conventional pajamas for herself: just a white tee and comfortable cotton bottoms with teddy bears on them. “But…” She looked him up and down, curiously. “How do you even get those off? What if you have to go to the bathroom?”
“No problem at all,” he answers. He unzips the suit all the way down, then pushes the arms off his shoulders. The pajamas sink down his body, pooling down at his feet. Leslie has to stifle laughter as she sees the speedo-style underwear, sporting the old Entertainment 720 logo.
“Tom,” she says, smiling, laying a hand on his chest. “These are for children.”
“Oh, I don’t know Leslie.” He puts a hand on the small of her back and his voice has taken a deeper - if not slightly sleazier - tone. She can’t help but smirk back at him. “They can be for adults, too.”
