"Maybe you should call a doctor. Oh, wait. We're in a hospital."
It would be useless to tell him she didn't appreciate the sarcasm. It would also be a lie.
She purses her lips and gives him her familiar, weary look. “House…”
He shrugs and takes his leave, and Cuddy is left to contemplate. She could refuse to put up with him. She could fire him. She could let someone else deal with him.
But the thought leaves a bitter taste in her mouth.
The abuse - the attention - is intoxicating; and she has always been a glutton for punishment.
