So this weekend was really cool.
Friday, I had my first drum lesson (DRUM LESSON?!) with Kevin. I really, REALLY dug it. I've been practicing a lot, noticing, unlike when I took up guitar, that it's fun for me.
Then I met Oleh at Borders, we went to his house, got some Taco bell, came back to his house where we watched the Black metal section of "Metal: A Headbanger's Journey" and some of the World Series of Poker.
Then we were on the train, and went to the city to go see Sahg/1349/Celtic Frost.
To sum it up:
Sahg are better live than on recordings.
1349 are better recorded than live.
Celtic Frost are awesome.
Oleh and I went nuts during the show, it felt really good just to headbang, and yell and thrash around with a friend. Sometimes a show is more than the music, it's the whole vibe of it.
Saturday Czarine went to Westfield to get picked up by Awesome. I picked them up and we hung out at my house waiting for Nick and Alex. Czarine is a pretty cool person.
Nick and Alex then showed up soon after, and we all headed to Finnigan's for Misanthropy Legion/Divinity Destroyed.
Misanthropy really surprised me. I didn't like what I had heard of them beforehand, but live they were good stuff. And wow! can Itay drum well/fast. Color me impressed.
Divinity was awesome as always, and it was fun to see the guys/Annie, as always. And we finally saw Jermyiah after a long fuckin' time. And it was good times all around.
Today I showered-worked-came home. I just saw "Film Geek" which made me smile a lot. It's weird watching a caricature (sorta) of yourself. I was getting mildly disappointed towards the end, but right at the end they made up for it.
My headlights don't work =/
