I was just thinking on how to get more comments on my LJ entries, because these entries are apparently not cutting it. I think it's because the way I write here is very factual and black and white. I'm not incredibly descriptive or eloquent and I don't get into a lot of philosophical stuff. I also don't voice my opinions much either like I used to. I think it's because I've become a lot more mellow as a person over the years; when I like/dislike something, I don't have to rant about it or how other people disagree. Hmm.
But then I'm thinking, "Why should I change the way I write just to get comments? Isn't that sort of ridiculous?" I guess it is. But I sure do like hearing what people think. But if all I'm doing is saying what has happened to me in the past few days, what is there to say?
Maybe I should write like I have, but maybe go into more of the stuff that I've been thinking on. Talk about what's important to me. That way, I'm not changing to get attention. Also it might be a positive thing to "voice" some of these thoughts. I'm not sure why I haven't already, honestly. Whenever I'm conflicted about anything, I ask my friends and family for advice.
Hmmmmmm.
SO. I went to a show a few days ago. It was in No Funswick at "Camelot", the venue's/house's last show forever. Burden, Dystrophy, Rip it Up and Stressed Out played. It was the Rip It Up/Stressed Out split release show. Every band was good. Rip it Up covered "California Über Alles" by The Dead Kennedys. Had a good time. Awesome, Chris, Ciem, Jen and a bunch of other people went to. Awesome bought balloons and I brought 20 CDs with Episode 18 of the podcast to give out. That was fun to do, albeit slightly awkward at times.
Also, a lady talked to me! She saw my Bathory shirt and commented on it and we had a conversation. She actually is the ex of someone I sort of know! Weird. Didn't get the digits though. Still, a little boost to the ego.
Awesome bought me two used CDs, Paint it Black's "Paradise" and Ceremony's "Violence, Violence". The Ceremony album is so good, SOSOSOSOSO good. Just crazy-intense hardcore. I love it. The Rip it Up/Stressed Out split is really great too.
Awesome and I saw Full Metal Jacket at the IFC Center recently and I saw Gabriel Byrne in the theater. He looked super-pissed.
I'm rereading Preacher.
I totally miss cuddling.
