You are who you are, period. You do obviously change in life, in my opinion continuously, but your actions now reflect throughout. It's funny, but today is "Fat Tuesday", the day before lent. The day you are supposed to indulge in whatever you are supposed to give up tomorrow, Ash Wednesday and throughout lent. Now why do this? Why the want to gorge? This train of thought was brought up after a friend told me of someone she knew, who did sexual acts with more than a few people, drank heavily and smoked a lot of pot within the span of a few days, because he was moving down a religious route soon. So he wanted to get it out of his system or whatever. many people do that during their college years. They act stupid and shrug it off, "I was in college, everyone acts like an idiot." And then they lead boring lives. That's the status quo. Act crazy and dumb, and then act normal and dull. Why not to just act in moderation all the time? Go ahead and indulge, but infrequently. It will make the taste of your vices that much sweeter.
Andrew W.K. was asked in an interview once what he thought of the push for kids to vote. He said, and I'm paraphrasing, "Uh, I dunno. Vote if you want to."
That's exactly how I feel. I think everyone should vote, but the point of life is to live and have freedom and choice. That includes not voting. So vote if you want to.
I was nearly euphoric last night. I had just come home from seeing Ethereality and Sonata Arctica. Ethereality was very good, surprisingly so. And Sonata was wonderful. Tony must be one of the all time best frontmen in terms of entertainment. And they played Wolf & Raven which is apparently very rare. I got to see Phil, Eden, Lee, Czarine, Jen, Pat, Jenny, Dobbs, Liz and uh Varoonika. ANYWAYS. I got home and was just really joyous internally. It was very nice.
I've been listening to Zozobra constantly.
Liars on Saturday! Extremely excited. I've been waiting to see them live for a while.
I finished reading Sleepers. Very good, made me tear up. Almost done rereading House of Leaves. Any books you'd recommend?
