And over night, it changed. Grew. Breathed anew. This thing was so small, uncertain. Possibly the end. The bitter finality of a moment.
And then, it changed. Giving in gave it room. And it was good. So easy. So good. Natural even. Like drinking water on a hot day with a burning throat.
And in me, something changed. To see the world in color again. Not the colors of sight, but those of creativity. My mind blooming into billows of artistic creation.
And if I'm not careful, it will change. I know nothing lasts forever. I'll be shouldering the loss. Putting it out of my mind until the inevitable day that I know is inevitably going to come. No matter how hard I resist. No matter how I prepare.
Time waits for no one, as they say. I'm just trying to capture this. This moment. Right now. And not rush to the finish line. How selfish to want something to have room. How selfish of me to want things to stay the same and at the same time to have my cake and eat it too.
Living is strange. And it never stays the same. Nothing does. Clasp at this moment. Remember what it feels like now. Because tomorrow it may be gone.
