I really didn't think of books (as in novels) as one of the major tree-killers. In my mind I always separated my beloved novels from paper-wasting junkmail, memos, handouts, etc. But that really isn't the case. Ecolibris plants trees in Central America and Africa to balance out paper usage.

On Thursday, Madeline L'Engle passed away at 88 in a nursing home in Connecticut.
